The room itself was fine, it's located in downtown Redlands which is just a nice place to hang out. However, I wish they would have mentioned this was a Christian orientated room in their description (see the attached picture) of the room so I wouldn't have made the mistake of bringing my non-Christian friends here. We did NOT have a good time and this was our LEAST favorite room ever.
Here are my main issues with the room:
There is a broken lock we spent 30 minutes on and had multiple different people try to open. Turns out we had the right code but the lock wouldn't open! When we brought it up to the GM she said "It doesn't have much give but if you lined it up just right it would have opened" so I guess their faulty lock was our fault?
You need prior knowledge of the bible...
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT: If you plan on doing this room please stop reading here as it contains a spoiler or two, however, I will do my best to not give away anything but I probably will.
So you need to have prior knowledge of the bible. The bible is referenced in at least 4 of the clues: One clue it is just audio of a man reading the bible and you need to know which bible verse it is, you also need to know how many books are in the bible which means you need to know what is considered a "book" in the bible and then count them?, one of the locks codes is an important word from the bible, and another clue randomly references the bible again but apparently that has nothing to do with the clue which threw us off since there was now a heavy bible presence....
This brings me to my final big issue with this room: one of the final clues comes from two previous clues put together but there is absolutely nothing that guides you to that answer! We're just suppose to know these two clues together would create a code that unlocks something in the room. It's ridiculous and defies logic.
We were unable to escape because of the faulty lock and that we didn't have the prior knowledge of the bible we needed so I don't know if the last few clues are overly religious or not and will not be speaking to how the room ends though the GM kind of explained it.
Overall the room has no flow, there's no real reason on why we only have an hour to figure out how to get out, there's not really any kind of immersion before hand other then the GM attempting to recite the story from memory, the clues don't really seem to flow together as well as other rooms I have done, and the locks are faulty. Personally, we won't becoming back because this isn't our religion so it isn't really our thing and it's not fun to pay to feel excluded, however, I think the Christian/Catholics out there would enjoy this room, it's family friendly and...
Read moreWe played the "Arrested" game here. I believe they have several other games. So 2 of us decided to join this game that can accommodate 6 total players, and for some reason, our group of 2 joined 5, so that our game had 7 people which worked great. In this particular game, I think a party of 6 or 7 is really fun, and it would not have been as fun with just 2 of us. Thank you strangers for your brains and a wonderful time.
I want to say this was one of my favorite games so far after playing Escape Room LA, Exit Game, 13th Room, PanIQ, Vector Escape, the Laboratory.
Theme: I forget details, but you're wrongly accused for a crime and in an hour, you will be hanged for it. You need to escape before the Sheriff comes back. The theme is very well thought out, nice props and fully immersive.
Hint system: unlimited. The hints come in character. I thought this was well done, without any disruption of the game.
Price: $28 very good! lower than most escape rooms in Los Angeles area
Tip: The beginning of this game starts out with a surprise. So it is very important that all members show up on time. On time means 15 minutes early. If your team members show up late, they can still play, but they will miss a critical part of the game.
Working with strangers, we were really forced to work together. I wouldn't classify this game as too difficult. It had a few puzzles that required alot of physical team work. Some puzzles needed creative thinking. There is one puzzle that short person will be able to solve right away, but hard for tall person. There was just 1 decoy, so we were productive the whole time.
Difficulty: 7 out of 10
I had such a good experience. Couldn't...
Read moreMy husband and I drove 45 minutes to eat dinner and then do Kidnapped. We love escape rooms and are not new to them. We have never been so disappointed in any room and had to ask for three separate clues to solve two puzzles, obviously not allowing us to even get close to finishing it. The clues did not make sense or lead into each other. It was very poorly designed, evidenced by the fact that the woman working was asking our opinion on a newly added piece of the room, a picture inside of a safe, to see if that helped or hurt us. It sounded as if others had been having issues with the room based on her comments. Then, as I asked her to explain the room to me to see what WOULD have happened, she adamantly refused and so we still do not know what the room was even about. Oh, and there was a bird that was only supposed to caw if we got something correct but she kept having it caw at something that actually wasn't right. It was very obviously cawing at that particular thing because it was with a specific word. This was the biggest disappointment and waste of money for us. We rode home quietly thinking and then just dove into how atrocious our experience was. Would have loved a refund. Do NOT go. There are plenty of other escape rooms...
