If you rent from this establish, just be aware that you will put your personal information at significant risk. I'll explain...
Relatively friendly staff initially at check-in. Had plenty of bikes. Mine operated ok, with some clicking in 3rd gear. My major complaint is their blatant disregard for customer's personal information security. At registration, they ask for a driver's license and credit card, which I understood since I was renting their bike. But I expected them to charge a deposit on my card and give it back. I was a bit surprised when she pulled out her phone and took a picture of both cards and gave them back to me.
When I returned, I was very friendly and requested that she please delete the picture of my ID and CC since it was no longer needed. She was not understanding or friendly and rudely refused and said she does that at the end of the day, and that she had other customers to take care of / didn't have time, etc. She seemed offended and annoyed I would even ask. I didn't accuse her of anything, and even said that someone could steal her phone and have access to all her customers sensitive information, but yet she was put off??
I work in the credit card industry and know the significant threats of ID and credit card theft. I'm not accusing the owners of being crooks, but that phone is extremely valuable to fraudsters as it contains both IDs and CCs together. SO much damage can be done with those two pieces of information together in the same place. I was shocked she was not understanding and willing to take just an extra moment to honor a reasonable request and go just slightly above and beyond to protect my information, especially when she had no business need to keep it!
As such, I persisted and asked again, and only after I threatened to report them for PCI compliance violations did she angrily get up and spend the measley 1 min it took to delete the photo. I asked if there was perhaps another way to secure a deposit or protect their interests rather than taking pictures of cards, and she said she wouldn't ever take my card again so it didn't matter. The rudeness to such a simple, respectful request and being banned as a future customer as a result was shocking enough to me to write this review. This is not the way to run a business.
Again, perhaps the manager/owners are standup people, but unless you're ok with a stranger having your ID and Credit Card information on a photo in their phone, and you are foolish enough to expect someone else to care about your information as much as you do, I'd advise you to rent somewhere else until they change their...
Read moreI believe this place is completely racist. I got to this place at 4:40pm to rent a bike, as I was told the day prior by one of their employees. They told me to step behind a line, and kept me standing there as they rented to white people. After waiting, I asked what's going on. They said they were closed. I said you just rented a bike! You close at 6pm it's posted on your sign, also in your brochure 6pm. It wasn't even 5pm, and they told me they were closed. The lady who says she's the owner, told me, "if you don't like it, go somewhere else". "I don't care", is what she said. That is exactly what is wrong with our country today. Blatant racist running businesses in America, treating African Americans like we are not welcome. Her words were clear. I don't want your...
