Highly recommend this place for weddings/celebrations/meetings!!
We held a wedding reception for 58 people in Captain's Cabin, the private room in Bluewater Grill after the wedding ceremony in Wayfarers Chapel. I have had a hard time looking for a restaurant that is close to the chapel, meet my expectations and within my budget. After doing lots of research, comparing the pros and cons among different restaurants, Bluewater Grill is the best of the best choice.
I was so lucky to choose this place as my wedding reception to celebrate my special day. We received lots of compliments from our guests not only for the quality food, great service, reasonable prices, spacious room, friendly staff, but also beautiful harbor views. Everything is just perfect; even better than I had hoped.
I would also like to give a special thanks to Vida, the event manager. It was such a great pleasure working with her. I reached out to Vida only one month before my wedding date to check the availability as I have been struggling too long to decide the restaurant. Vida was very responsive to email and I was so lucky that as my reception was held on Saturday during lunch time, Captain's Cabin was available for us to reserve.
Vida is very experienced, super efficient and organized. It was very easy to work with her. I and my husband have never held such a big event before and we did not hire a wedding coordinator to help with the planning, so having a reliable event manager like her is a blessing to us. She gave us lots of great advices from menu choices, reception timeline planning, local florists and wedding cake recommendations to PA system rental and calm us by giving us directions during the entire planning process and on the wedding day. We feel beyond grateful for her hard work, flexibility, accountability and great service. Everything went amazingly well on our special day and we cannot express how appreciative we are for everything she and her team for us.
We will definitely recommend Bluewater Grill to our family and friends.
Thank you again for making our special day so perfect! We appreciate your help in creating unforgettable moments that will...
Read moreI live across the parking lot from Bluewater Grill. I use to go at least one a week after sailing. I noticed a slight decline in the food over time and decided it wasn't worthwhile. The place has a wonderful location which has been improved with a beautiful patio.
Recently a friend of mine got an email to come and enjoy a special lobster tasting. She invited me and I told her that I was not crazy about the food. She convinced me, she called the manager who had sent the email and he told her to make reservations; she did.
When we arrived they saw that we had two reservations, one for the tasting one for the restaurant. We were informed we would not be able to partake in the tasting. My friend asked for the manager, he came over and spoke with us. What I found strange was instead of listening, he said " the hostesses have been here a long time and would not make that mistake." He did however make some accommodations which I thought we fine. When the food arrived, , my lobster was severely undercooked, the green beans and finger potatoes we extremely oily. I asked for the manager and told him about my meal. He just defended it by saying "we have a lot of repeat customs.
Other than the bad food, the customer service from the manager was weak. I didn't want the meal comped. I wanted him to know how I felt about the meal and the steady decline. I had seen in the food over the last five years. Again I was wrong just as he inferred my friend was lying about the reservation.
Our marina has its annual tenant appreciation dinner there, it was marginal too.
Perhaps the store location sales are so good that they can afford to lose the lifetime value of a customer. A customer who lives on the property and entertains locals and visitor after a...
Read moreWaitress with the blonde hair in a bun on 4/24/2022 at 7pm in the evening tried to stick us out on the seating with the green floor outside, away from the view, isolated from everyone and everything else. She thought this seemed okay but we refused to be sat here knowing we pay for the experience as well as the food. Waitress seemed a littled irritated at the request for the change. She said we needed to wait another 5 to 10 minutes to wait for an open seating but as i glanced at the outside seating where everyone else was seated, i noticed a booth that could fit 6 was empty. It seemed like she deliberately put us there for whatever reason. We sat at that exact empty booth i spotted earlier on after she had moved all the menus and table wear onto the booth. So there was space?? and im glad i asked to move because there was heating and the nice view of the marina. Cant imagine why she would want to stick us someplace so isolated and out of the way from everyone. It made me feel unvalued as a customer at first because she begrudgingly said " follow me to your table" with just an annoyed attitude. I felt like we weren't good guests for this establishment. I felt judged.
The food and atmosphere was amazing! The rest of the servers were more than accommodating as well and im more than happy to come back for a special occassion. Overall I think the food and service were great and just the initial service from the seater who sat us initially could have...
