Deceived, Dismissed and Disheartened I’ve never written a review before, but this experience was deeply unprofessional and damaging to my health that I feel I must warn others. On June 13th, I spent $1,800 on four solid gold piercing changes (two helix, a conch, and a belly button). At first, everything seemed fine, but within days one helix bar was too short and pressing into my skin, while the conch jewelry was so tight it created an indentation and began forming a keloid. (See pictures attached. Left in silver is the original one and on the right in gold is the one Abra put in.) The earliest follow-up appointment available was July 6th. When I returned, the same piercer, Abra, replaced the helix bar—charging me again—and admitted the correct conch size wasn’t in stock and wouldn’t be for at least four weeks. She also tried to charge me over $200 for the conch replacement, blaming me for not knowing my own size and responded defensively, becoming aggressive when I questioned it. She said it was my fault for waiting, despite their appointment system leaving me no sooner option. It became clear she never had the correct sizes during my initial visit and I believe she knowingly used the wrong ones. I believe her focus was on sales, not my health. There was no apology, no accountability, and no genuine concern. Now I’m left with a keloid and have to heal with a stud before I can seek out a shop that will actually provide honest, professional care.

They're cordial but dismissive about concerns. The piercer wouldn't even look at my dermal without the jewel in during my evaluation appointment because she said it was normal for my skin to be red, then told me to stop taking the jewel out to clean it. She told me the change in weather was the culprit... piercers shouldn't give unscientific advice like that. I followed what she said and it made my piercing 100x worse: it developed a bump and bled a lot because it was clearly infected and festered following her advice (I ended up having to use Bactroban on it). They also don't sell H2Ocean which is the only thing that cleans piercings effectively, especially if they're already infected. The jewelry is extremely overpriced, they don't let you look at it 360 degrees, and the store lighting is dim so you have no real clue what you're purchasing for way too much money. The piercer was surprised my dermal wasn't rejecting, which makes me think most of the dermals they give people aren't great and reject. I haven't gotten anything pierced by them, but I wouldn't trust it. They also sold me 2 piercings that were supposed to be the same design but are clearly different (pictures attached, 1 is taller, darker, and has more metal on the face).

Been here twice, first time was honestly almost 5 stars. But this last time my sister got her rook pierced and the piercer went too far and poked another part of her ear with the needle. Didn’t say a single thing about it, just spent a few minutes trying to stop the bleeding acting as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. My sister wouldn’t have cared if she even lied saying “oh this happens sometimes due to the area of the ear, it’ll heal just fine” but the piercer said nothing about her accident. We literally didn’t realize until we got home and tried to clean it off thinking it was just dried blood, but then immediately realized it wasn’t just a drip of dried blood, it was a hollow needle shaped puncture underneath. That’s when we realized the piercer was weirdly babbling while trying to stop the bleeding because she was trying to hide what happened. It also explained why she didn’t offer a mirror to see the piercing after she was finished. Pretty disappointed, it’s okay to make mistakes. We are all human, but to hide it is unprofessional and disrespectful.

I went in for a “styling” appointment and was helped by Lucas. I was looking for something for my second lobe piercings that I could wear all the time, including at night. I told him that I always have difficulty getting earrings in those piercings, because I don't wear them enough and they get closed up. I knew they also had retainers, but we didn’t really talk about that. he showed me their jewelry which had flat backs and the stud part that inserts into the back, but I wasn't allowed to touch anything, so he just demonstrated how you pushed the stud into the hole, but not on an actual ear. it looked easy.

I liked the gold studs better than the titanium, but after he told me they started at (I think) $140 PER STUD, I thought I'd better settle for titanium, even though that was still a whopping $70 per stud. so I got a titanium moon crescent and star. the girl who installed them for me was friendly and gentle. however, I immediately had buyer's remorse when I saw them in the mirror. B I didn't realize that because they were titanium rather than silver, they looked kind of dingy and not like new, expensive jewelry. he told me they don't sell sterling silver because a lot of people are allergic to it.

That night, both studs kept getting snagged on my pillowcase, and it was very painful, especially the star (I didn't realize when I got it that it would snag SO easily!) I ended up having to take them out to be able to sleep, and the next day my right piercing was very swollen and irritated from the snagging.

The next day I thought I might try wearing the moon one again. It was insanely difficult to put in. it is so tiny and I kept dropping it. you have to put the back in first (which I also didn't know when I bought it), and I had to really force it through. Then you have to put the front in, which involves inserting the short, tinier than a needle post into this tiny little hole! I was in the bathroom so I accidentally dropped the damn thing down the drain!

that's when I decided to call and talk to someone about what happened. I asked for the manager, and the man who answered said he was speaking. I was very polite and told him my experience. I didn’t realize at first that he was Lucas, the same guy who had helped me. He pointed out that he had shown me how the stud attaches to the back.

He told me that since I lost one of my studs so soon after buying it that they could give me a 20% discount on new jewelry. Um, thanks but no thanks. I wasn't about to spend more on overpriced jewelry that's not even comfortable, when comfort was the primary reason I was willing to spend so much. I couldn't even stand to keep the studs in for one night, let alone permanently, and I have had a number of other piercings, so it's not just a matter of intolerance to pain.

My husband was actually able to retrieve the Moon stud, which had miraculously caught on the rim just below the opening to the drain. since then, I have tried every possible configuration to make these things work for me, putting them in other piercings etc. but every time they got irritated, inflamed, swollen, and even bled. the post end is very sharp.

I tried to find a number I could call to reach the owner, but they only had the store's general phone number and email on the website. i finally just decided to write this review.

I didn't get pierced there, so they might be good at that. but if you're just looking for something comfortable to wear all the time, I would just get a retainer instead of buying the expensive jewelry they use for piercings. I guess I just thought a professional would be able to help me with honest advice, instead of selling me expensive jewelry that didn't work the way...

So decided to take my daughter to get her ears pierced here. I thought it would be a special place to take her as this is what they specialize in. Moms be warned!! They insist you buy their studs which are ridiculously expensive due to the fact that they only have titanium. No surgical steel post. The rhinestones were tiny. During the piercing she put the dots on crooked and said "it's cuz her ears are uneven". Um that or your horrible at your job! When I suggested she move the dot, she held a mirror up to my 14 yr old daughter and said "they're her ears, she should decide if they look good." Um, she was 14 and had never had her ears pierced! Um..how about you put the hole in the center of each lobe?!?🤦 She didn't measure from bottom to mark or face to mark and guess what? My daughter's ear piercings are crooked. I find this is a common excuse with piercers, "your ears are crooked. It's your ears." Center of the lobe folks. It's not rocket science. The best part is their expensive posts. They had a push on backing of a round disk. My daughter cleaned her ears and "thought" she was twisting them. Turns out after over a year of the studs being in we went to take the earrings out and they bled. BOTH EARS!! She was in tears. Even after a year of healing. 🙄Turns out their $175 titanium posts are so small you actually can't tell if you're spinning them or not as they slip in your fingertips.😑 We got in my car and went to Sally's. I got her a pair of Studex studs and they've finally healed properly so she can wear other earrings. My other daughter decided she wanted her ears pierced this year. I TOOK HER TO CLAIRE'S! I did have to ask her to move one dot, but they're perfect! She got nice pink rhinestone surgical steel posts. Obelisk total was over $250 for the studs piercing and tip. Claire's total cost? $148! And that was also purchasing earrings, accessories, keychains and hair ties! Because we got a piercing everything in the store we bought was 20% off! It was a good birthday. The piercing cost was like $70 with the studs she chose. I'm posting this review to save other parents or people looking to get their ears pierced and think this is a "special" piercing place to avoid Obelisk at all cost! Don't go! It's a huge rip-off with no reward or even properly healed ears. I'm honestly embarrassed I took her there. I'm a licensed cosmetologist. Makes me want to get into piercing ears. At least they'll be straight and in the center of the lobe!!! I can never tell my daughter her piercings are crooked, but at least I can warn others! Save your money and go to Claire's! #piercingfail #ripoff #DONTGOTOOBELISK #FAILEDHORRIBLY They honestly shouldn't be in business running that racket! YOU'VE...

I am incredibly disappointed with the customer service of this shop. I had been in previously to have some jewelry installed and it went well so I decided to have my nose piercing jewelry replaced and the post shortened, as I was told (Pre-Covid) that this was what I needed to achieve the look I wanted. Now, please note, I have had trouble with my piercing: its not placed very well and it gets irritation bumps very easily but I like it so I want to keep it. However, when I go see PROFRESSIONALS in their trade, I expect them to advise me about what is best. So, I left the Obelisk feeling pleased with the new look.

By the time I went to bed that night I noticed the stone was flush with my skin. If I would have been told by Abra before I left anything along the lines of "hey if this starts to get too tight please come back immediately" I would have tried to put my old post back in. By morning, the stone is no longer visible from outside my nose-I can feel it, but my body has tried to heal over it and I don't know what to do. I called the shop and left 2 voicemails, sent 1 email and left a feedback review on their Square app. I thought they were open on Sunday, because Google and Facebook said they were so I drive down their as soon as I think they are open and get to the shop to see the "closed" sign posted on their door.

So now I am scrambling to find a place open and allowing walk-ins on a Sunday to try and help me get this jewelry out of my nose, since I REALLY don't want to pay for a trip to the doctor. Thankfully I found a place who was able to resolve my issue and put my old post back in. Of course, they tell me they would never put a post that short in a nostril...

At this point, I'm looking for a customer service resolution as I have still NOT HEARD BACK...
