Casino is a mixed bag

THE GOOD -The casino is very clean and I love how lowkey it is… despite everything the vibe is good

-Decent video poker pay tables

-Sometimes they have $5 3-2 BJ but it’s only one table and it’s usually full so ymmv

-The dealers are super friendly

-The Cherry Pepsi from the soda machines tastes better than Cherry Pepsi from anywhere else

-I’ve heard the hotel is lovely

THE BAD -They close at 12 on weekdays which I didn’t know when I walked in at 11.

-Hospitality is almost non existent… I wanted to sign up for a players card and couldn’t find anyone to help. I eventually asked at the pay window and they told me the players club was closed for the night and that there was nothing they could do for me… the kicker is the guy said I wasn’t missing much since I was only planning to play video poker and BJ. When I was leaving a guy in a suit “came down from upstairs” and said he could help me… to his credit he was friendly and helpful but it’s clear signing up new players wasn’t normally part of his job.

-The slot machine I played was a bloodbath… since the $5 free play can’t be used on table games and the place was closing in 1/2 an hour I put $40 into a slot and figured I would play on that until close and walk away with whatever I had…. I was betting the minimum and my $45 didn’t last 15 minutes. It wasn’t a slow bleed where you get some nice little wins on the way to losing either, it was like throwing money into a burning pit. But hey the grift worked because they got me to play slots which I almost never do.

-The sportsbook is a self serve kiosk a lot of the time because no one is working the desk. This wouldn’t be a big deal but the kiosk doesn’t dispense cash so if you have a winning ticket you have to re-bet or cash out onto a ticket that is supposed to be redeemed at the desk. If the desk is closed you have to walk over to the pay window where sometimes they can cash it and other times they tell you it can only be redeemed at the book in person. More than once I’ve left with a winning ticket instead of cash because of this, which is frustrating. Also you can’t use your players card with the book so you don’t get credit for betting on sports.

-The comps seem stingy… look i’m grateful for everything but holy cow I’ve been playing VP and BJ here 2-3 nights a week for a few months now and haven’t gotten anything so much as a mailer. Meanwhile I still get food and freeplay offers from other Michigan Casinos that I only go to once or twice a year. I’ve also never been offered drinks here which usually happens at other casinos. I don’t drink so this isn’t a big deal to me but others will...

Visited 7pm on a Sunday night (Labor Day). Casino was very clean, smoke free, friendly staff, decent table games but no roulette. Slots weren't friendly that day. Not very many cocktail waitresses, there for 5 hours and saw one once. No comp drinks, not even in the high roller slots. Their sports restaurant and gambling complex inside, is only open on Saturdays, not Sundays from the locals. Likely staffing issues like the rest of the country, so CALL FIRST if you want to go there for their restaurants. Their website had both restaurants listed as opened. Bummed because we wanted a nice dinner and college football games, had to settle for a prime rib sandwich from their eatery, with no TV to watch football. Sat at the super spin Big Wheel and we hit the magic wild spin over 10x and each time it would only pay the minimum $20, even though you could win much more. Their free shuttle is pretty clutch. Did see the most amazing rainbow 🌈 of my life, before walking in but no pot of...

We had a good time for three hours here! My husband took me in a pre-Christmas trip on Nov. 30, 2021. They opened right on time! (We went early in the day.) we didn’t win much but we didn’t spend much. We had fun trying. ☺️ The staff was incredible. The kind lady at the players club window, helped us get our cards, told us about various attractions,in the casino & out. She answered any, and all of our many questions. We had drinks at the bar, (the bartender was friendly) & since it was a Tuesday, there wasn’t too many other people. We wore our masks & had fun trying to win back our twenties! Good Variety of slot machines. I would have liked to have gone when there was entertainment and also to have tried the in house restaurant. Every single employee (floor person, bartender, players club personnel) we came into contact with, treated us with respect and answered any questions we might have about machines, or slot play, or dining, or other betting areas; being the...

We are heading to close on a house so we stopped for the night here in our RV I was a little disappointed that the main restaurant is not open during The week 😕 I really wanted a Waygu steak for dinner to celebrate our house purchase. Unfortunately the house is over 200 miles away so I probably won't be back just for a Steak 🥩. I decided to overnight here instead of an RV park because their website tempted me with that steak dinner. I had to boondock no power or water for nothing. The Cheese Steak from. The little shop that was open was very good just not what I wanted. Oh well when I called to check on the RV parking I should have asked about the Steaks. Also if you have never been here before and want to boondock the security you need to register with is way in the back of the Casino not obvious where it is. And it's a bit of a walk to the building from the RV lot , they do have a shuttle service though if you're too tired from driving to Walk that far.

This is the main Casino for the Petoskey area (nearest neighboring casinos are Traverse City and Mackinaw City). While smaller than most casinos below the 45th parallel, it packs a lot of slots and table games if you have a gambling itch. You'll find several restaurants and bars inside, and the quality is as good as any other establishment. The Casino has many of the newer games, as well as some of the classic favorites, so you are bound to find something you like. Parking is free, and there are shuttles if you are parked a distance out.
