I don’t plan on ever shopping at GameStop again, especially this one!! I went in to purchase the ps5 pulse explore ear buds, when I got them home I noticed that the box was sealed with packing tape, not from the factory. When I opened them there was nothing in them but the charging cord! When I went back an hour and a half later, I was told by Joe that this happened all the time and there’s nothing he could do in store, and called security on me while i was on the phone with customer service because he needed to go into the back of the store and I couldn’t be in there when he did. As he put it he had “deadlines I have to make”. I gave a call to customer service the next day. When I talked with customer service they said there’s nothing they could do, I need to go into the store.i went back to the store and was on the phone with customer service at the same time I was talking with the manager who told me she couldn’t do anything. Customer service said they would escalate it to the district manager, and there would be an investigation into the matter, and I would need to call back in 24 hours to know the decision after the fact. I did that the next day and they again told me I would need to go into the store. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and the supervisor sent me an email that was supposed to help me get a refund. I went into the store today with the email and the manager said she would need to call her district manager. She told me the district manager said they would call back with a decision. 40 min later the district manager called back and said I could get an exchange, not a refund. I got the exchange, when to another GameStop, and got a refund. Four days after I tried to return an empty box they sold me for 184 dollars, I finally...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. My son rode his scooter 30 minutes from home with $100 in his pocket, of his own money and a gift card, to purchase a new PS5 controller. He's a huge gamer and was pretty excited to get a new controller. Nothing age restricted. My son is the size of an adult, around 5'7" 200lbs... They immediately threw him out. I called and asked why. Because they can't be liable in case he gets kidnapped. Exactly what they said. Basically, they can't accept responsibility for babysitting him in case something happens to him. What? That doesn't even make sense... And no where is this policy posted publicly or online. They're not responsible for anyone in the store unless they are negligent. i.e. water on the floor, no signage, I slip and fall... Last time I was at GameStop it was dead as a tomb and I didn't notice any risky, dangerous areas of the store. He's definitely not at any risk of being kidnapped... Is it because of his skin color? You're afraid of him stealing? He's never been thrown out at other locations... As soon as that gift card is spent GameStop will never see another dollar from us, ever again. What a way to treat a kid, who's perfectly responsible for himself, with money in his pocket to spend at your store, who was so excited, he rode his scooter 30 minutes from home in downtown Minneapolis. Have all the policies you want... At least make it known. This way if it truly is a policy we can choose whether or not we want to spend money at a store with that kind of rigid policy. And the way he was treated, talked to like a criminal and immediately thrown out...The kid took it pretty hard and personally. He was scared. Shame on all of you. You're a GAMING store for crying out loud. Half your...
Read moreI just had a terrible, terrible experience with this store, and in particular with employee, Amy. I was attempting to buy a Switch and informed them I was in a hurry. Amy let me know she would not be able to sell me the Switch without first asking me about all the accessories to try to sell to me. I told her I didn't need any accessories, did not have a Gamestop account, and did not want one.
Amy refused this and told me she would still be asking me questions. As she was asking the questions I answered, No. No. No. On the third question I answered her No before she finished asking her question about if I wanted a switch carrying case. At that point she told me she was refusing the service.
I placed a call promptly into Gamestop corporate and left a complaint and I was told that this GameStop store, and specifically Amy, had numerous complaints about her.
This is the most insane experience I have had. I am trying to hand a business hundreds of dollars and because I was not open to them upselling I was refused business.
This is absolutely unacceptable and shameful for a business to...
