Initially loved the place as I was getting back to collectables and introducing to my neice ..I even brought some rare and cool stuff to sell to get more money to spend in there with my neice but the service is getting worse and worse..my neice spent an hour looking through discount boxes and found a handful..when we went to pay for them they pulled out 3 and said they weren't supposed to be in there..and was rude about it..she was disappointed but I tried to explain that its cool..but now it seems every time we go and look through them and come up with a few it's the same thing being told we cant have them for the price that's on the box and do it as we are being accused of doing something wrong like trying to get away with something...really frustrating to be treated like that after spending as much money as we have and I understand what they need to do to look through and make sure there is not something worth a fortune in there but the only reson people spentd time looking through those is to hopefully find a rare good one or something that potentially could go up in value or something you're looking for..and then to have them taken away and then treated like you are trying to get over on them is insulting and is not they way I'd treat customers and especially one getting into the hobby with another just being introduced to the hobby..my niece cried after the got in the car because of a ninja turtle comic that she fou.d...really not sure if I want to come back and that sucks because we...
Read moreI hadn't been in Hot Comics since the year they moved to the Hub. I stopped in a little bit ago to see if they still had Yu-Gi-Oh cards and it wasn't so much that they didn't have any, but I asked a very basic question on when they stopped selling them. One of the gentlemen let me know that they had moved over to the Hub from over across the street on 66th and Nicollet, which I sure remember, but he was claiming they never had them at the current location in the Hub. I mentioned, that can't be true because I bought Yu-Gi-Oh cards when they had moved over here to the Hub. He then was trying to argue with me for a little bit about it, and then finally the gentleman behind the counter said it was a year after they moved over here. I had to just leave and say, "Thank you, that was the answer I was looking for." Honestly a ridiculous experience for such a simple question I asked. If THAT'S how their service is? I don't recommend going here. I remember it being much more...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem in the Twin Cities. This place is huge and filled from ceiling to floor with so much product. You have to take a couple hours to really enjoy the store as a whole. They have so much to offer and its going to take time to get through it all or majority of it. But let me tell you about this stores greatest asset. Its the staff! They made me feel welcomed and super comfortable to take it all in. Usually I catch awkward vibes and side eyes from people when i'm enjoying a hobby of mine in comic book stores but this stores staff were phenomenal at creating a culture of invitation. I will be back just to continue the conversation we were having. This location gives you a feel of old neighborhood, everybody knows/wants to know your name type of places. The atmosphere makes it easy for you to make friends and bond over amazing things the store has to offer. Please visit this place and let me know...
