Loved the variety of items in the store. I was treated rudely by a sales associate. The first rudeness was directed after I questioned a discrepancy in the price posted on the sign and what the register displayed at the time of scanning. Then, the associate seemed inconvenienced by my use of an e-coupon. Finally, after paying for my purchase, I requested a gift box and was told that they no longer have them. I’m fairly certain that I witnessed another customer in front of me request and receive a gift box and tissue paper. Did that customer receive the last ones? The item I purchased was fragile, as are most of the inventory in the store. Why wasn’t my item at least wrapped in paper or other plastic bags or anything??? Was I discriminated against for seeming cheap or because my brown-skinned son was with me? Either way, it’s wrong! It makes me not want to return even though I’ve been a loyal Hallmark shopper since 2004! What’s ironic is the offending employee is a senior citizen. I’m middle-aged. There were two other associates who appeared to be in their twenties who were kind, helpful, and seemingly more professional. Who is setting the right example here??? The millennials. ...
