This hotel exceeded my expectations. Everything was great! We didn't know what to expect as I've never stayed with this brand, but the lobby was homey and quiet when we walked in around 11pm. There was someone waiting to pick us up at the airport even that late, and someone took us to the college campus for our Bible convention in the morning. Nadine greeted us at the front desk. She even gave us WELCOME BAGGIES! There was a water bottle and FULL SIZED snacks - Doritos, a rice krispie bar, Welch's fruit snacks, etc. etc. These were real brands, full-sized! Whaaat??? Definitely wasn't expecting such a nice treat. The kind gesture set the tone for our stay.
The lighting in the bathroom was fantastic - may I suggest a magnifying mirror to enhance the room? SO happy to have a microwave (!!) and the ability to easily add heat to the room. The bed was extremely comfy - slept great! One negative - the refrigerator was loud (like every fridge in a room) so I did have to shut it down so I could sleep.
My sister and bro in law enjoyed the breakfast and brought me hard boiled eggs every morning. Everyone nice and friendly. Next time I'll ask for a non-connecting room, as you can always hear neighbors talking loudly when there's a connecting room.
When I initially signed up for Choice Rewards before I arrived, there was a special "pick a gift" promo if you stay on a Friday night...I chose a Starbucks gift card. It didn't come to my email, so I emailed the main headquarters about it and they responded very fast and re-sent it. Amazing!
Will DEF stay here again if we come back to the convention next year! Thanks for a great...
Read moreI checked in for a 6 night stay on July 18,2024. Upon entering my room I noted an odd not really good smell. I immediately called the front desk and was offered air freshener. I tried the febreeze I had which had no effect. After the 3rd night I requested towels, a bath mat and the sheets on the one bed I used to be changed. When I returned that day I found a large black trash bag outside my door with those items inside. I took out the towels but I wasn’t going to make the bed. One day we went to the pool. The pool was cloudy, had things floating in it. The pool wasn’t filled all the way, the hot tub was dry and out of use “for repairs”. On the 5th day, I saw a housekeeping person who I thought was in charge (she was carrying a clipboard) I asked her to come and smell my room, as I led her to my room she said “you are in room 517 right” I said yes. She told me that they had a woman who spent 3 months in the room before I came. They knew there was a smell in there and said they couldn’t get rid of it. So the front desk knew about the smell. When I checked out the next morning I told the manager about my experience. She said she would have to speak to the general manager and took down my phone number. On my way to the airport the GM called and said they’d comp me for 1 night. Normally I would stay at the Sleep In which is on the same property but I they were full. I thought that Comfort Inn would be an upgrade with a pool and all. I am not sure if I would stay in either hotel at this point. Not only was I disappointed but I...
Read moreHave you ever been on a plane when the pilot says, "for those on the right side you can look out and see the Grand Canyon! For those on the left, you get to see nothing!" Well that is this hotel. Get a room with an even number and you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the mountains and valley. Get an odd number and you see the busy parking lot and street. This hotel is located in the top of the hill commercial area that is so common in Pennsylvania. Although the address says Johnstown, it is akin to saying that Brooklyn is in NYC. It is, but far away from Manhattan. This hotel is about 7 miles from downtown Johnstown. We made a mistake and got the room reservation wrong by a day, but the staff was understanding and got us a room. (This was late October and the hotel was somewhat empty anyhow.) The room was nice and clean. But it was an odd number and we had a view of the street. However nice the room, the fridge made a racket, the toilet leaked and refilled very loudly, and the water pressure in the shower was almost non existent. (This is why I gave it 3 stars.) So we asked if we could have another room and to their credit, we got one on the even side! Beautiful views, the shower was fine, the toilet quiet, the shower showered, and life was good again. Breakfast was fine both days. The typical selection of waffles, pre-made egg omelets, sausage patties, cold cereals, muffins, etc. Enough to get you going. There is an excellent Mexican restaurant next door. I would stay again, if I could get an even...
