Last evening we went to see āthe Upsudeā. It was in one of their very small dank theaters. It was at least 15 min after start time when we notified management that the movie failed to start. They never proceeded to try to start the movie, without any apology or explanation. Finally we heard from them when it was 30 min after start time. At the 45 post start time they said they could not fix the problem. Then they offered to return our money or give us a voucher. In the meantime people bought food & drinks, traveled there (we drove 25 min), and sat there waiting all that time waiting. Simply reimbursing us is little compensation for all of that. They shouldāve reimbursed us and given us a voucher or given patrons 2 vouchers for all that trouble. I did ask the evening manager about this in front of the crowd who were victimized by this poorly operated theater. She said she could not do anything but offer us what she did. Additionally, she informed all of us that she was the primary manager & not just the evening manager. She acted like she did not have a boss. In fact she acted like she couldāve cared less. My husband took the voucher, but I will give it to someone. I refuse to sit that dank, dark, stale air theater again with antiquated policies. It is more than logical to compensate all āvictimsā with more than they did. I was going to call the manager, but feel heās as hapless as the manager he hired. I am giving it a one star because it shows I am more magnanimous than either that theaters managers or itās owner Itās fine if one has such poor expectations to think this theater is even average. No- I will never go again. ....and I didnāt even get into...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give 5 stars. As they pull it off way more often than they don't. But when I saw Inception, the screen was blurry during the entire opening. The audio was inaudible through the first 20 minutes. Which is when we walked out. The error was also that the then current Twilight film had premiered 2 weeks prior. It had been a big draw but my argument against them doing this was, "the next film buy the director of, The Dark Knight would win the current weekend. Therefore it was foolish to put it into a tiny screen with no good sound or stadium seats.
The manager first accused me of, "it isn't my fault, sir. It is not projected to be a big draw and twighlight was worth having on the only two good screening rooms." They only had those 2 good screens back then. So... I was a little upset for being told I was the bad guy whenever all I did was ask for my money back with please and thank you and share my thoughts on the subject. Also, done in a calm albeit enthusiastic manor. I was helping them do their jobs. In the end I got my ticket refund and drove to another theater that didn't make the same mistake. The film ended up being huge on opening weekend. So my advice was golden. Not a jab as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to a matinee today. Now get this, we're seated in one of the smaller Cinemas, my wife and I... And who Gets behind us, but a group of stoned /or drunk hippies! Well, dude directly behind me can't keep his mouth shut, won't quit licking his girlfriend/wife's face (yes... you read it right), and making inappropriate comments as loud as he can. The whole batch of them were just obnoxious! We went through the usual social tactics of dealing with them directly to no avail so I went out and got the manager, who was prompt to come to our Aid, appropriate with the situation, and even polite with the drunk/ Stoned guy. Have to hand it to her... She was totally on the situation, appropriate, and dude walked back in with me sat down in his seat and fell asleep on girlfriend/wife's shoulder only to be quiet for most of the rest of the movie. Two thumbs up to the Intrepid young female manager who is willing to confront the...
