Abner Clay Park — Attraction in Richmond

I grew up in the area. In the 80s and 90s we had summers filled with fun block parties on clay street. My cousin played football in this field for the neighborhood rec. We grilled by the shed and played on the playground. Now i bring my family to the park for movies in the park and summer bar-bee-q's. I went to the Park and enjoyed the 24th Annual Down Home Family Reunion.

There's a great variety available to adults and children. There were food vendors, sales vendors. The music performances were constant and well worth the time.

The playground is a great size over 2 slides, swing sets, &more. There is great space to run around and it's gated...

The renovation done on this park has made it a place I enjoy taking my dog for a walk. Im not sure if it's fully open or not. The fencing is down in most places and plenty of people use the park, but its not 100% clear. Either way, it's well lit and feels safe to be in now.
