First time using this station for Amtrak. Only 2nd time rider with Amtrak. The parking lot that Siri took me to was completely behind the building in a "shady" area. Tons of signs for how to pay for parking, which I didn't know I had to pay for parking...but not much for how to actually get to the station itself. I was completely lost. All the doors we walked past said basically not the doors for Amtrak, use main street entrance. It was a weird set up area and no arrows, nothing. We had no idea where Main St was. Finally walk a few blocks around building, thinking we finally found the doors and it says "employees only". Okayyyyy. Finally next set of doors is the entrance we are looking for. Only real signs they have for Amtrak is just "To Trains" sign near stairs. Once you are up there, there are absolutely NO signs or tvs or ANYTHING to give directions of what tracks are what, which trains will be where and finally NO status of the trains. All that wasted open space. We had to ask info back downstairs questions about the train. She told us we will "know" when the train is here. Amtrak staff said train was coming. Again NO directions which part of the platform to be on. We all panicked when the train arrived and he said we had to walk much further to get on the last cars. Paid $5 for all day parking, came back to glass smashed all over one parking spot and a vehicle gone. You could tell both windows had been smashed out of whatever car probably just got stolen. My car didn't have it's glass smashed out but a fresh new huge gouge on my door that is also a small dent. My car is a 2019. Awesome. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. It also seems we picked the furthest parking lot there was from the station....
Read moreI’ve been to Richmond Main Street Station several times for different events, and it’s truly one of the gems of downtown Richmond. The building itself is a beautiful, historic landmark with so much character — every visit feels special.
It’s incredibly spacious, making it a perfect venue for a wide range of events. Tonight’s gathering was a celebration was Unbound - A selection of modern quilts featuring local individuals who had some unique and personable pieces on display. The setting couldn’t have been more fitting.
On another occasion, I attended a wedding on the second floor, and it was absolutely stunning — from the ambiance to the perfectly prepared food.
Parking around the station is always a breeze, which makes attending events here even more enjoyable. You can’t help but love the mix of history, architecture, and the unique offerings this venue brings to downtown Richmond. I’m always impressed every...
Read moreWe primarily worked with John at Main Street Station (and sometimes Crystal, too) for our March wedding and it was fantastic. John was nearly always available and flexible to our needs, whether it be another walkthrough for our florists, or more questions about details for the special day. John worked well with all our vendors and most especially our wedding coordinator, especially since I was planning out-of-state, it was great to know all the details were being taken into account to let the day run smoothly. John was sure to inform all Main Street Station staff of our wedding and they were all helpful in guiding our guests to the event.
From initial phone calls and emails, to final walkthroughs in-person, John at Main Street Station was incredible to work with for our wedding. Cannot recommend the venue or the staff enough.
