This is my most frequently visited park as I live very close by - and it's my primary bicycle access to the San Francisco Bay Trail.
For some reason, Google Maps shows the parking area not as pavement, but as park, until you turn on Earth View - so I encourage you to do so right now!
Part Marina Access, Part Regional Trail, Newly installed restroom building, wheelchair and stroller friendly. What's not to like?
OK, one thing not to like (and why I didn't bestow the 5th star): When the weather is nice, and it's a weekend or holiday, it's too crowded! Especially if you walk or ride along the Bay Trail.
One thing in particular you should see: The exhibit on the construction of Liberty Ships which is part of the Rosie the Riveter National Historic Monument. Read moreThis is a beautiful park! An unexpected oasis in Richmond. I will be totally honest here, i wasn't actually planning to visit this park. I was passing thru Richmond with my family, and we stopped at a nearby Starbucks. My 7 year old niece needed to use the restroom, which was closed at Starbucks. The restrooms were also closed ar every other business in the shopping center! So, as we drove down the street, we spotted this lovely park with a public restroom, and stopped. We also decided to get out of the car there for a few minutes and check it out. There was even a family there having a birthday party, with a bounce house that very kindly invited my.niece to come play! Overall: a very enjoyable, beautiful park with clean...
Read moreWe had my brother's repass service here and it's a nice park next to the water. It's pet friendly. It's the beginning of the park and has bathrooms available. Handicap accessible. The only thing I would suggest is that the pet owners pick up the poop from the pets. Can't do anything about the birds but ask if the city could keep the grass and sidewalks clean from the poop as well because when my nephew was coming across in his wheelchair his hand caught poop on it and couldn't come through it. Otherwise it is a beautiful place. Bring a coat and or blanket because...
