Slow Burn Glass — Attraction in Richmond

Had the pleasure of attending the beginner class with my daughter here at Slow Burn Glass. Such an amazing process made all the more enjoyable by the instructors clear directions and patience with our small group.of newbies. The facility is prepared to handle every level of expertise or newly curious to this art form. We learned a lot, and created 3 different pieces highlighting several disciplines needed to work glass from molten ball to beautiful, unique artwork. Our instructors provided excellent directions to work safely with such a hot medium and encouragement when we were unsure of ourselves. After having watched a few episodes of Blown Away I was amazed & never imagined I'd get the chance to blow glass.

She surprised me w/the idea & we loved it.

The instructors kept us safe and walked us through creating our pieces. She made a bowl & I a vase. If I remember correctly one oven was over 2,000 degrees and the other was around 900 degrees. Hella hot!

It's great for a couple or small group, only takes 60-90mins and it goes by fast. It's also safe for kids 12 & over. The value's in the experience and of course the finished...

Took the Pumpkin workshop Oct 2013 & had such a great time we have been back for 3 private lessons & several of the other project workshops (Christmas ornament, Mothers day flower, Beer Glass)

Bryan & his team are great. They are the perfect balance of calm considerate instruction with great sense of humor. Makes every class knowledgeable & entertaining. We will continue to go back for more fun workshops...
