This unpretentious looking house serves up a fabulous tour. The tour guides know an incredible about about John Marshall and his time here from the 1780's until his death. At least half of the objects in the home are original to the family and the house. It is amazing to be so up close to the very items that this famous family lived in day and night. I would heartily recommend this tour if you have any history in our country, the constitution or the Supreme Court. Marshall's rulings changed the way the Supreme Court worked and established it as an equal third branch of...

My last visit to JM's house was probably 25 years ago. Maybe I was having a bad day, but I was underwhelmed ... This time was much different. I was greatly impressed by the architectural details and the history conveyed by our docent (Geneva) was exceptional. My step son (he's 36, I'm 73) and I asked a lot of questions (his were history related while mine were architectural) and Geneva was so well informed on everything. I think tix were around $15. Discounted for seniors. A great tour of one of RVAs oldest and most...
