Great location. Views of downtown or the river, depending on which side you stay. They have an attached parking garage, extremely convenient and easy to access. You do need to check-in before parking, your room key gets you into the garage. They do have a small drive-way area for checking in. The room we stayed in was a general Fairfield Inn or Courtyard type room. Photos online do show nicer rooms. Nice TV, desk, lounge chair, and two beds. I did not like the space around the door to the hallway. It allowed hallway noise from other guests. Would appreciate a better seal. The bathroom was a bit small and felt I had to cram by the door to get to the toilet. The water pressure and hot water were excellent. Love the blackout curtains, especially with such nice windows and risk of bright sunlight in the morning. I liked that the microwave and fridge were behind a closet door, which helped reduce unnecessary lights at bedtime. The clock between the beds displayed the time on the sides as well as the front. Something that simple was very convenient. The AC unit in our room had a horrible clanking noise (we did not complain during our stay) and because there is no "constant fan" option, the clanking woke me everytime it turned on. The lobby and dining area were nicely decorated. We were offered free breakfast, not sure if that's for all customers or just Elite members. The young man at breakfast was so friendly and so efficient. I truly appreciated him. I had the best breakfast veggie omelet here...the BEST! The staff were wearing masks properly and all areas of the hotel were clean. I did have a problem with the cleaning crew coming in my room twice, despite us having late check-out and a "do not disturb" sign on the door. We prepaid for the room and parking, and received an excellent price. I'm not sure if these are covid-19 prices, or if they are generally reasonably priced. If we need to return to Richmond, we would definitely come back here. I would love to give 5 stars, but can only give 4 due to the lack of no "constant fan" option for white noise and due to the disturbance by the cleaning crew.

I've stayed here for many nights (primarily for work) but did vacation here the weekend before this review, and I gotta say, can't complain about this hotel at all! Front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating. The lobby and common are very modern and well kept too. The pool and fitness center are well kept as well. Also, I've had the chance to stay at almost all types of rooms, and I can say the river view rooms are 10x better than the city view rooms (especially if they are at a high floor). Most rooms are generally laid out the same (except for suites) and can't complain at all with the bed and sofas offered! The TV worked at all rooms I was in, and a fridge is included as well. One time when I stayed for a week, the fridge did not work, but they happily brought up a new fridge! Although the rooms are very nice, the absolute nicest part about the hotel is the location. It is very close to James River waterfront and bridge walk, and it's close to a lot of businesses and restaurants. Especially if you have the river view rooms, you'll be able to fully enjoy the location of the hotel! Really not much to say aside from the fact that it is such a good hotel to stay at for any purpose! The only downside is the fact that you have to pay for parking and the garage is very crammed, but it does not hinder the experience at the hotel as much. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Dinner was delicious (Crab Cakes) and Old Fashion! The buffet was full and lots of different items(although the woman on days wasn't happy when we asked if we could put two tables together for a party of seven, she rolled her eyes) But housekeeping, the front desk and the driver's for the shuttle (Mr. Gary and Mr. O took us 8 different times somewhere, the best!!) did a great job and accommodating. My room, which was a handicapped accessible room with a roll-in shower, I'm handicapped, the air conditioner was broke. They worked on it twice and couldn't get it to work...slept miserable. They brought a box fan..helped a little. I couldn't change rooms because they didn't have any other rooms with roll in showers. So three stars on the room because of no air. Four stars for service because of lady running the breakfast buffet. Very clean and nice hotel otherwise.

So this hotel is in a great place it's very Central to downtown and if you can't be beat however if you don't get a room that has a view then this hotel is not the best. I checked into this hotel explaining to them that this was my anniversary and that I was on a trip with like girlfriend and we were going to a concert I explained to the person at the front desk then we would love to have a room with a view instead we got a handicap room on the third floor facing a wall with graffiti on it the room was some sort of a handicap special equipped room that had a plastic chair fold up in the shower to shower was so small only one person could fit in it barely the toilet in our room would not flush which is disgusting there seems to be what looks to be dirt around the trash can we had to listen to a screaming child most of the next morning after going to a concert and being out until 2:30 in the morning. Meanwhile the ice machine was on the 13th floor go figure that doesn't seem to make any sense but anyway after going to the 13th floor to get my ice and realizing that we had been duped that there was amazing views to be had of the river which we never got to see I called the front desk and explained to them that our room was not to our liking and that on top of it I felt that we had been duped out of a better room and put into some sort of handicap room neither my girlfriend or I are handicapped so I don't know why we would have been putting in a handicap accessible room I paid for a standard king size room I paid in advance and paid through the Delta Marriott's website I didn't use any kind of discount site like Hotwire or anything like that because I figured this way I could guarantee I got the best type of room is not the best. Meanwhile we ended up going to the Hilton to have dinner because their restaurant was much and I said than the one in the delta and lo and behold they were closer to the event and a much nicer Hotel so my regret was we didn't just book with Hilton but anyway that is my own regret but please be warned in advance the Delta hotel is not all it's cracked up to be and in my definition I've traveled all around the world and stayed in many five star hotels this hotel is far from a four-star hotel... so be more than Advanced when you get a room here in Delta go and check it out first if you don't like it call the front desk and they'll tell you that there's nothing they can do for you you're stuck in the handicap room that you're in. I wish I had taken pictures but the room was so dismal I just couldn't wait to get out of it so my recommendation is check out the Hilton if you're going to be staying...

My recent stay at The Delta by Marriott Richmond Hotel was absurd and unacceptable. I checked into my room around midnight Thursday night expecting a clean and comfortable room. I was extremely uncomfortable and dissatisfied to see the uncleanliness of the room I was placed in. Below is an itemized description of the repulsiveness I experienced during my stay:

The shower and bathroom wall had stains of what appears to be blood and strands of hair far too short to belong to me (a female). I was not once able to take a shower during my stay as I was not comfortable showering in a filthy bathroom.

The floors didn’t seem like they were cleaned for numerous guest stays. There were crumbs, carpet stains, water leaks, as well as water covering the entire floor of the bathroom. Having the inability to feel comfortable enough to take off my shoes in a hotel is completely unacceptable.

The disgust doesn’t quite end there, not only was I far too disturbed to shower and take off my shoes, but I was also unable to comfortably sleep. The bed linens were clearly dirty, wrinkled, and stained.

Upon notifying the front desk on the first night of my stay of the conditions of my room I was offered compensation with a drink coupon. I could not have been more insulted by the front desk staff by this form of accommodation. After asking to speak with the supervisor come my second night about the conditions and accommodations he (John or Jake I believe) offered to send a cleaning crew up to clean my room. The cleaning crew was so appalled by the conditions as well that they asked why I didn’t choose to move to another room. I would have loved another room as parts of the carpet wouldn’t have been able to be dried and cleaned in a quick room cleaning, however this was never offered nor was a refund.

The cleaning crew attempted to help me by speaking with the manager which had been the best customer service I had received during my stay. To my disappointment the cleaning crew was notified that the amount of rooms left wouldn’t have been a king suite therefore any other room would be an upgrade and would require additional payment.

I travel to 3-4 cities per month throughout the year for business and have never been treated so poorly nor have I been placed in a room with such conditions.

If you’re looking for a clean place to stay for pleasure or business, I would highly recommend taking your...

2.5 stars at best! This was, by far, NOT a 5 star hotel nor was it a 5 star experience. There were issues at check in, but Latisha did a great job of helping us resolve the issue. Even though I booked directly through Marriott's website using my BonVoy membership information, mobile check in was a hassle. I was repeatedly asked for additional information and ended up having to do a credit card authorization form at the 11th hour due to new policies, etc.

This was my first hotel stay since the pandemic started. I was offered a full cleaning after the first night's stay, but unfortunately, that never happened. I adjusted and took the necessary precautions to ensure I felt safe (cleaning the room myself, ensuring everything was disinfected, wearing two masks since housekeeping did not wear theirs upon entry of the rooms, etc) I was able to rationalize this and move forward with the stay, but....

The room itself was not up to par. It seems like cheap renovations were done and the room was NOT generally cleaned properly before my stay. And when I say NOT clean, I mean just dirty (not even related to my new pandemic standards). The floor in the bathroom was filthy (I saw many spots which clearly indicated that the floor wasn't cleaned prior to check in. I spilled a little water and when I wiped it up, the tissue was a dark gray color from the accumulated dirt on the floor. The tub had a long strand of hair in it that did not belong to me. I could see smears and finger prints on the headboards. The remote had some yellow crusty residue on it left from the last guest. There were patches on the door that were deteriorating and need to be fixed. The shower faucet handle was loose and the sink too waaaay too long to drain after washing hands/brushing teeth. I had to wait about 2-3 minutes, then go back and rinse it out after it finished draining. The blinds were cheap and hard to close to prevent the morning sun from coming in. I was quite disappointed and am still having difficulty believing that this was supposed to be a premium Marriott property. I think the lavish, attractive furnishings are a great addition, but basic things really need to be updated, fixed, and general cleaning needs to be thorough.

Unfortunately, I have no interest in...
