Came here on 2/18. Bought tickets to whatever was happening for VCU homecoming. Waited outside in the cold for 30 minutes beforehand sincthey were over capacity. Vibed with security ..wasn’t even too mad. We even laughed and talked at first! Only to end the night being attacked by some lady and 2 security people as I waited for my friends to leave the bathroom. A lady (I’m assuming is the owner now after speaking with others there) literally grabbed me under my arms and dragged me up the stairs and through the bar up too. Naturally, when someone I have no idea who they are puts hands on me, I reacted and swung back as I’m being dragged (I’ll be honest), but dragging someone that’s a 4th of your size when they didn’t aggress you first is insane.! Then security comes in and drags me too. Im literally telling them “I WILL WALK JUST LET ME GET MY PHONE.” A bartender witnessed it and asked them to stop also. The bartender was the only nice person just helped me and she ended up giving me my phone while they dragged me. I’m 5’2, 140 lbs..it necessary to MANHANDLE me with 2 men and 1 women? Where is the de-escalation training? Why can you just not ask me to leave? They could have even I told me to get tf out of their building and cursed me out, and I’d say they can do that because it’s their business. But to put your hands on me is an immediate no no lmao. Like go do security at the pentagon or something if you wanna try to take down a threat. I told them I was waiting for my friends in the bathroom. They dragged me, kicked me, and threw me on a table. Mind you, I just injured my back and I’m taking pain meds, so the dragging, throwing, and kicking didn’t help. I had a skirt on, so not only did I get practically attacked by their staff, I also was able to give all of the bar a nice flashing :) Literally will...
Read morePurchased tickets at Eventbrite for the Legacy Band performance at Vagabond 3/9/24 at 8:30 PM. No one answers the phone on the event day. Waited on line outside for 20 minutes to enter the venue. The so-called restaurant is dark, dim, dirty devoid of atmosphere and serves food in styrofoam trays. The “Rabbit Hole” certainly lives up to its name. There was a bar with no stools, band instruments on display with no musicians and a DJ spinning. There were three sitting areas with couches. There were four people sitting on one of the couches as soon as we walked in and the other sitting areas displayed “Reserve" signs. Shocked by the exploitation, disrespect and subpar-treatment to the minority patrons, I sought out the manager to inquire about the seating. I was informed that the Vagabond advertises “very limited seating” and that he was well aware of the fact that there was only one couch (seating 4) available for the open seating and that is why they suggest early arrival! I explained to him that four available seats in a venue that services 75+ persons is unacceptable and seating should in fact NOT be advertised all. Unapologetically, this white young man was more than inclined to acquiesce to my request for a refund and escorted my friend and I to the front to return our wristbands. Having never patronized the Vagabond before, and not being from the area, I would certainly caution against patronizing this venue for paid events as it was an all-around disappointing and negative experience, save...
Read moreThis was the most horrid experience at an RVA restaurant in a loooooonng time. Evening of Saturday, 10/27, around 6:10pm. We arrived and were seated promptly. After about 10 mins, we could sense the chaos in the air. After about 15 mins, we finally met our waiter....a very nice guy who seemed very overwhelmed. We could tell there was not enough staff to serve the patrons, and after an hour, not enough staff in the kitchen as well. We ordered....my friend ordered the roasted red pepper soup for an appetizer, I did not get an app. We ordered our dinner at the same time. After about an hour plus, no food. Not even the soup. The manager appeared as though he was very frazzled and chasing his tail. We could sensed very POOR leadership. No food after an hour, not even the soup, and we got up and left, leaving the money for our cocktails on the table. We actually felt bad for our waiter...felt as though he was being overworked and abused. As I said, after an hour, we were done. We will NEVER, EVER go back to Vagabond. Utter CHAOS! And God help the people who go there as well as the staff. I hope potential patrons have A LOT of time on their hands, and I mean A LOT. This...
