I was never fond of AMC and had always prefer Regals Cinema instead but I thought I would give them a shot once AMC started their movie subscription service and now I come to regret that decision. My girlfriend and I had been coming to this theater since it is the closest one to our house, we went in today to watch Jumanji but my girlfriend had left her driver license at work and wasn't able to get her Driver license since her place of business was closed. We approached the front desk to present our ticket and our identification, the employee told my girlfriend that her work badge that included her photo/name was invalid and so we mention that we have her Costco card which also includes her name/photo along with other credit/debit card to verify her identity. The person who helped us said that she was the manager and our "photo ID" can't be verified because anyone can make fake work badges and other form of photo ID we provided but however the AMC app states that a photo ID or driver license is acceptable. My girlfriend had a photo copy of her driver license on her phone and began to show the manager this but it still wasn't enough and she was so adamant that we are trying to "scam" the system. I understand that a physical driver license is more preferable but there are other ways to verify her identity but what made us more upset was the lack of their service. I then proceeded to call customer service and they also dismiss what I was saying and said that it's up to the each location to decide on what is acceptable. What I didn't find acceptable was the manager's attitude, inability to help and clearly refused to do anything for us even though we pay for a services and are able to provide proof of that. They denied us access but allowed teenagers to come in through the back entrance then go into whatever showing they please and be disruptive(This isn't a hypothetical, I witnessed this first hand and the manager refused to check their tickets even after a customer complained about it) I feel like this manager pick and choose what she wants to do or not do. I planned yesterday to surprise both of my boys by taking them to see the new movie Coco after my son got out of school at 6 p.m. We were going to see the 6:45 p.m. showing and it was perfect because since funds are low I planned to go on discount Tuesday. We ate quickly and rushed over to the theater just to find out that the showing was a 3D movie which it did not indicate on Moviefone like it normally does. I do not like 3D movies and my 20 month old son (his first movie) is not going to wear the glasses and sit through a 3D movie. The next showing at 7:15 was a Spanish only showing which again was not indicated on Moviefone. The following movie was at 9 p.m. which is way past my kids bedtime on a weekday. I asked to speak to the manager to see if he would honor discount Tuesday pricing on another day since it was not indicated that it was a 3D movie followed by Spanish movie and he said there was nothing he could do about that. Had we known it was 3D then Spanish we would have gone to Dos Lagos to catch their showing. I'm highly disappointed because me and my husband are avid moviegoers, we give a lot of our business to this local Riverside AMC, and we are Premier members. Minimally, I think a manager should be able to make exceptions or provide discounted tickets in unique circumstances like this - that makes for great customer service. Read moreExcellent clean facility with a bar! Only issue I had was with the management who was obviously undertrained and was not aware on how to treat customers. There was a few situations including mine where the manager did not know how to handle anything professionally, which included lying, and being caught in a lie, smerking to me an another customers because we were upset with his service, as well as obvious ignoring of me and other customers who needed assistance from a manager. Unfortunately, due to the managers inability to handle a situation promptly, I ended up missing my movie entirely. After such, the manager refused to refund/reset our entrances on our AMC Stubs A-List Account, thus prompted me to contact Customer Service. I was instructed to "Talk to the manager" again by AMC Customer Service to have them compensate me and reset my entrance on my AMC Stubs A-List account so I wouldn't waist an entrance on a movie we missed due to management. Unfortunately, for us, the manager had no idea how to reset our entrances and said "idk just call the theater tomorrow." I was very upset with how this entire situation played out and really makes me want to take my business elsewhere other than AMC, especially since I'm paying for 2 of their largest monthly packages.
