Yesterday I experienced the worst visit I ever had at a movie theater. I had a full blown panic attack there. I love going to the movies with my family so I have Regal Unlimited. I took my kids to the Regal in Riverside like I usually do every week. Every week itās a struggle between rude staff and extremely long lines that yesterday it took 40 minutes to get my food. I would be embarrassed for hour the service was. Why? Because I worked for a movie theater, enjoyed my job everyday and was very efficient that we got through our customers quickly with a smile on our face. Instead, yesterday while I was in line about 20 minutes into it my back was hurting so bad and could feel myself starting to have a panic attack. So I asked the woman behind me if she could hold my place while I stand on the side to ask for water to take my medicine. She said yes. While I was waiting I sweating, my watch dinging telling me my heart rate has increased to 148bpm, hard time breathing all while the 3 staff closest to me would glance at me while holding my chest and not one of them coming to me. I have tried to flag them down and no one cared. It wasnāt till 10 minutes later, that the next customer told them to help me first. By then I couldnāt even ask for the water. I had to signal to them that I needed water. I was extremely embarrassed and mortified that all those customers seen what was going. I took my meds and waited for it to work. Then when it was my turn, the lady that held my spot said I was next and the same woman that gave me the water then tells me,rudely tells me I need to be in line to order my things. I was shocked how she spoke, no care that her customer was clearly not well. I explained to her the obvious reason why I was there and two just last week the previous staff told me that if we are just doing refills or need water that doesnāt involve paying for anything, we could come to the side of the counter. Eventually she order my food but not without her obviously rudeness and acting like she didnāt know what to do. I was going to speak to a manager but I was too mortified from the whole experience as soon as I got my food, I found my sons and husband and told my husband what happen and held him. I had AMC A Lister and decided to try Regal and Iām thinking of going back to AMC instead because they are better because since their staff are friendly, itās clean at any location and the seats are comfortable. This is just from my last experience there. The week before they spent another 45 minutes trying to figure out where my refund went that I had done the previous week. In the end they couldnāt give me my money back and instead give me 3 tickets which by the way is less in value of what I paid for the concessions. Good luck at going to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to start off nice and say that the manager here was a wonderful lady and was very pleasant and honest.
But my review is based on Regal as a Corporation selling space in this theatre for scam artist to steal your information.
I know that sounds like some weird conspiracy theory but it's actually much more simple and stupid.
I walk in with my ticket, get told theatre 9. Okay, great! A lady stops me and hands me a raffle ticket and says that at the end of the movie I need to go to the kiosk area and I have a chance to win 4 free movie passes. I think okay, that makes sense. I felt she was representing regal in some way so I had no problems.
Saw my movie, came out and did the kiosk thing. It asked for my phone number, email, name, etc. Then it says I won. But now I am like, really? So I look for the lady who gave me the ticket to ask her and she's split. Gone.
So I go to the service desk where the manager says she may be back soon but then she tells me they're not apart of regal they're some other company. Now I feel scammed. So I go back to the kiosk and other people are getting "Good luck in the raffle" instead of my "congratulations you won" bit. So I wait a bit and this lady doesn't come back. I go back to the info desk and ask her for the company name doing this kiosk and she comes back with like Vacation Suites INC or something like that? Then I realize...I just unknowingly gave my information to a company that WASNT regal, that I wasn't aware WASNT regal. I was given no preface of "Hey, I'm from whatever the heck inc" because I would have said no thanks and moved on.
So unfortunately, even though the manager was a wonderful and honest lady I will --absolutely never-- go back to --any-- regal theater ever again. My area has an AMC, and Edwards, etc. I'll make sure regal doesn't have a hand in their operations and go their. Good job Regal Corp, you screwed up big. I really don't appreciate being lied to. I'm not gonna look forward to the 10 daily phone calls I'll get either. Beware when you visit. DO NOT...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst experience at a movie theater that I have ever had. We came to see a movie and the sound was horribleā¦!!! We couldnāt even hear the characters speaking. We told one of the workers and she said she would let someone know. I even tried calling the number to the theater, but the call went to some out sourced call center that had no idea where we were located. We waited in the theater and tried to watch the movie hoping it would get better, but it never did. We went back up to the front and told the same worker that we spoke with earlier and she refunded our tickets, but at that point it felt like more of an insult than anything else. My wife was watching a different movie at the time and they wouldnāt even let us sit with her. In addition to that, we had to drive an hour BOTH WAYS just to get here, because we are from Merced. I had to pay for the gas to get here, not to mention the time to get here PLUS the food was horrible!!! Just a pretzel cost as much as a movie ticket and it was awful. The cheese was old and the pretzel was over-cooked. They locked the doors, so even if we left, we couldnāt get back in⦠We had to wait for my wifeās movie to finish. They directed my 18 year old son and I to wait in the BAR LOUNGE where you have to be 21 to sit in there⦠The only reason I knew that was because there was a big sign in there that said, āYOU MUST BE 21 OR OLDER TO ENTERā. So we pretty much spent the bulk of two hours watching people clean the theater. One of the workers apologized and said that the theater we were in has been acting up all day. You would think that if they knew that ahead of time, they could have fixed it, or played it in one of the other dozen plus theaters available. It just not sold us the tickets in the first place. In any event, this experience really sucked. It goes down as the worst experience ever in my lifetime for a...
