I went for a softball game and I've been here for a couple of events. I really like the area and how they have SO many sports options and also the area is pretty clean. They have a baseball field, soccer field, mini soccer field for younger kids, a marathon trail (they actually do marathons on this trail and people also skate on this). I don't like the way their seats are positioned for softball because it puts you farther away from the game so pictures aren't going to be ideal unless you get up and stand near the gate or batter's plate.

It's always got something going on: soccer, football, baseball, kickball, extreme freesbie, quidditch, people practicing parachuting, etc. Fields well maintained. Has a gazebo with concessions during some events. Porto potties are eeh but a lot of outdoor fields don't even offer those. Adjacent to the Green Way along the river so a nice access point for other great outdoor activites. And if your kid gets injured during a sporting event, hospital is right next door.

I don't often go to the park itself but I run on the Greenway beside it all the time. The section of greenway is very nice and mostly flat. Many soccer fields with bleachers. Tennis courts and playground. There a bathroom thats not always the best but at least it's there. Parks and rec do a good job at up keeping everything. They do an amazing 4th of July event here. You can also watch the helicopter for the hospital.

This visit was not a first and it will not be the last. This area is perfect for running and situated where many can come together with little effort. The fields are next to perfect- the grass is plush and soft, perfect for soccer! The walkways take you to the Roanoke river Greenway which is where we raced today. Along with space for runners, there is plenty of room for the crowd and cheering section. I really like the water from their fountains (some places just taste gross!), And especially appreciate the stations that have bike repair tools! A lot of heart has been invested into this complex...

A great place to plày tennis, kick the soccer ball around, and relax. The people are generally friendly. There are some homeless that do hang around the picnic shelter but they keep to themselves and don't bother anyone. Definitely recommend to exercise and relax. Sometimes the tennis courts are used for high school practice or tennis instruction so the best time to go to have an open court is before 3pm on weekdays. Also there is a return wall for those that want to practice tennis...
