This place does not come as advertised. We stayed in unit 14 and it said ENTIRE townhouse. It was definitely just a 400 square foot apartment. The biggest thing was the downstairs neighbor/maintenance guy? He was up at 8am working right outside our window. Like 5 feet from my face. Both Saturday and Sunday morning. I work a hard job and wake up at 5am everyday. I don't go to the coast to get woken up by the maintenance guy deciding to wash his personal truck right outside my window at 8am. Like what the hell is this guys problem. People come here to relax and get away and he had zero empathy for others trying to enjoy a peaceful morning. Seriously fire that dude cause he is the sole reason I will never stay here again and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know to expect the same. On top of that the beds are old and fold in like tacos. And the amount of flood/spot lights that just stay on 24 hours all over the building is ubsurd. Good luck seeing any starts out or sleeping in a dark room. Even their "black out" curtains aren't keeping out the blaze of those lights. The complex must double as a light house or something. Basically when you are looking at this place and asking yourself, does it look to good to be true, just know the answer is yes. Yes it is to...

I was told "you can see the ocean from every room". No view of the ocean. Calling it "Oceanside" is deceptively clever. Very moldy shower. Internet barely worked. No dry place to stand outside at all. Lights shining in window and no curtain to block. Very noisy - all rooms face the same parking lot and a diesel truck is enjoying idling for a long time out. There is no insulation in floors or walls so can hear everything. Very very old/unclean cabinets, etc. And the upstairs bath fan just sounded like a train idling from 10 pm till eleven.
Very very bad deal for the price.
I called the manager at 11 to complain about the upstairs bath fan sounding like a train idling above my head. They turned it off so she refused to text themto ask them to leave it off.
It came back on at midnight and after hours of me banging on the celing it is turned off. However, they are still awake (as am I, no choice of mine, it is 2 am) and every time they move around the floor creaks.
It is like trying to sleep in a train station, which I have done, and actually gotten sleep.
Avoid this place like the plague :(
Fan was finally turned off at 2:30 am. But now I get to listen to...
Read moreThis was our first trip to the Oregon Coast. I am so glad I found The Getaway and booked our stay there for our Spring Break mini vacation. It was the perfect place for us and exactly what I was looking for, a quiet, safe place in a small coastal town, with ocean view and affordable. It even had cable and wifi, but we didn't really use it much. With that view and the beach right there, who needs that? We stayed in #10. Super cute, nicely decorated and cozy. You get the whole balcony for yourself! The kitchen was big and very well equipped (you only need to bring your food if you want to cook) even kitchen towels and dish soap was provided. Oh and there was a dishwasher! Everything was clean and comfy. Location was right off Highway 101 and so close to everything in town you could walk there. We absolutely liked staying in Rockaway Beach more than Lincoln City or Seaside. It's a close drive to all other towns if you want to visit them and at the end of the day enjoy this quiet getaway. The staff at check in was very nice and friendly. Did I mention the view was AMAZING?||We are definitely staying here every time we visit the Oregon...
