Terrible experience. We vacationed nearby for our son and our future daughters engagement celebration when we ate here. Upon arrival it seemed fair, but as soon as we were seated the waitress/owner stared down our mixed race son and future daughter in a disgusted way. Then as soon as we were seated the same waited came and asked if we're ready to order. We asked for a minute. Shortly after she came back and asked were we ready yet, it had been about 2 minutes. We asked about the oysters and if they had their stomachs still? The waitress says "What do you mean?" My Husband says "What do you mean what do I mean? Their stomachs, are tt get cooked with them?" BAM! Whole attitude. We shook it off, we were celebrating after all. After we figure out the answer, which they were wrong about, she storms off. About 2 maybe 3 minutes later she comes back and says, "ok, you're going to order now, right?" We were not only dealing with her attitude, it felt as if they're was a very racist undertone to her actions. While waiting for our food my husband and I decided to go next door to try some video poker only to get a call from my grown children letting us know that the waitress said to call your mom or pay and leave. Of course the kids call this immediately and as soon as I entered I asked why my child would have to leave he's an adult and he was paying for the meal and she backtracked as quickly as she could I told her that I needed to speak to a manager or an owner she told me she is the owner but she would get her husband. She went and got her husband who seemed to be super nice although very doubtful of what we were telling him had just occurred. Before he had even walked completely away she was at the next table speaking loudly about us very disrespectfully. We just took our food to go. I would suggest a totally different restaurant if you're in the area because the atmosphere and the service was trash the lady is attitude was trash I was very upset about it I was very embarrassed in front of my son and his fiance in a strange place nonetheless. Absolute thumbs down for this experience. There are however nice people in different restaurants there who are very friendly especially at the marina I would suggest dining somewhere else while visiting...
Read moreGave this place a second chance after having lunch there a couple months ago and it being, overall a bad experience.
The first time we had lunch, met the owners quickly learned that Nancy was unprofessional (at the least)to her staff and in public.
We asked about the onion rings as they looked great but they are frozen so got the mushroom then ordered the Hawaiian and the elk burger. All the above was horrible. No flavor no love plus the awkward situation with our waitress who was doing good.
I had the Hawaiian and there was the smallest pineapple on it that I didn't even know was there and fry type sauce which tasted weird with the teriyaki sauce. Didn't eat it nor take home. My partners elk burger was bland and we didn't eat much or take it home.
Earlier we thought let's try the breakfast, we are locals and this area lack great restaurants and we're really hoping this place would be a good one.
The breakfast was not any better. Even my toast was horrible. The orange juice was not orange juice and the veggie omelet I ordered was made with plastic tasting and looking eggs. The veggies weren't the ones that was supposed to come on it but weren't cooked well either.
My partner had the chicken fried chicken and said the chicken part was OK at best but all else was horrible. The gravy and biscuit tasted like flour and hasbrowns were soggy and tasted like oil.
Looks like a fun place to party and they seem to cater to the drinkers. Too bad I don't drink.
Sadly won't be back nor recommend to anyone. I hope they make some changes to the quality of their food, show they...
Read moreNewer place to eat here in Rockaway Beach, Oregon only been open a short time so we were really looking forward to checking it out and supporting a local business. We will give someone credit for cleaning up the place from the old Cow Belle and Sunrise days for this location however too many TV's on the walls and then a radio I think was playing under our table so not very relaxing. We ordered two fish and chip meals swapping out the macaroni salad for clam chowder. The clam chowder was very good with ample clams - a little runny/milky but good. The fish and chips NOT SO MUCH at $20.00 a plate it should have been better. The rockfish they use for the fish portion has no flavor, is almost pencil thin so all you really taste is the overcooked HARD/DRY breading which LITERALLY tore up the inside of my mouth. It's like a panko breading but courser and grittier. The french fries were thinner than pencils and breaded with something like the fish was breaded in so again no real flavor. You get 3 good size pieces of fish and a handful of fries but again...not worth the price for what it is and how overcooked it was. Sorry guys but probably not going to go back to the Tie Breaker at least for...
