If it had not been for the spectacular view and very comfortable bed I would have given less stars. Room was not very clean at all and I do have photos. Black mold was coming through paint in bathroom ceiling with no fan or ability to open the bathroom window. Windows screen facing Beach was so dirty that you cannot even feel air coming through and the rooms were stuffy and didn't smell fresh at all to the point that you had to keep front and back doors open as long as possible. This did not feel safe doing so even during the day and on the ground floor. Room was for two yet only had one outdoor chair and it was broken to the point it was unusable and dangerous. Rooms need a thorough cleaning top to bottom and update inside and out. Front desk lady was very polite but I did not feel comfortable expressing these issues except for the broken chair outside because who knows if they are going to charge you for things that they should not because of reporting issues. And being short on staff who would have taken care of it anyway in a timely manner anyway? If I could have found another place to stay I would have. With all of the guidelines for hotels and with Covid this tells me that this establishment does not take it seriously. Needs more staff and I know this is hard to come by these days. It is a good thing that I took sanitizer of my own. Oh and the posted sticker on bathroom mirror for a minimum charge of $50 for possibly getting makeup, blood or other stains on towels is ridiculous. So what if you spill something on the carpet, bed or table? Do you not want it to be cleaned up asap? You do not have the staff to have them come and clean it up for you in a timely manner. So does that mean you may be charged for carpet and possibly linens as well if you accidently spill and or stain? They do provide two packages of makeup remover towelettes but no paper towels for any clean ups. IMO, it would be a very good idea for the owner of the property to take a thorough look into there...

Room was not the correct room we booked, it was very cold even with heater on high, beds extremely uncomfortable and the staff was rude. Best part about the whole experience was that after checking out, my debit card was charged $50. I thought, well that’s odd, and called the hotel to see what happened. The lady on the phone answered and responded extremely rude laughing at my inquiry claiming that there were comforters missing and that we were lucky she didn’t “charge us $250” for the “dogs” we brought in. 1. We don’t have any dogs, and we definitely didn’t steal any comforters from the hotel, they were stained and uncomfortable in the first place. I asked her to review the camera recordings to show that we had no pets and took no comforters. She laughed continuously at me and said she doesn’t have to check anything she can charge me for whatever she wants to and then hung up the phone. I called again and she declined the call, 4 times. On the 5th call she answered and I asked to speak with a manager, she said that there’s no manager and I asked when he will be in, she said she doesn’t know and she’s not allowed to tell me if she did know. Then hung up again laughing. I called again and was declined every time. I have since contacted both the property owner and property manager on facebook in hopes that someone will contact me back. If there’s video cameras everywhere then they should be able to see we did not steal anything nor did we have any pets. Save your money from going to this place, go...

"Oceanfront Gem at a Budget-Friendly Price!" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Silver Sands Motel in Rockaway Beach is a hidden treasure! This charming, no-frills motel offers stunning oceanfront views at an incredibly affordable price. Here's what we loved: * Location, Location, Location: You can't beat the location! Step out of your room and onto the sand. The beach is literally your backyard. Plus, the quaint town of Rockaway Beach is within easy walking distance, with shops and restaurants just a short stroll away. * Unbeatable Value: For the price, the Silver Sands Motel offers incredible value. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of our room, especially considering how budget-friendly it was. * Sunset Views: Watching the sunset from our room was an unforgettable experience. The colors were breathtaking! We even saw some whales breaching in the distance. * Small Town Charm: Rockaway Beach itself is a delightful little town. Everyone was so friendly, and we loved exploring the local shops and cafes. Tips for Fellow Travelers: * Book in Advance: This motel is popular, especially during peak season. Be sure to book your room well in advance. * Embrace the Simplicity: This isn't a luxury resort, but it has everything you need for a relaxing beach getaway. Focus on enjoying the beautiful surroundings and the laid-back atmosphere. If you're looking for an affordable, oceanfront escape in a charming town, the Silver Sands Motel is the perfect choice. We can't wait to return!

It wasn't terrible but a few things bothered me. When asked for more tools we were told no unless exchanging the other ones. When you have 2 adults and 2 kids having two towels did not work well. Glad I packed extra just incase. They offer a coffee pot and coffee but no filters so if you wanted to use it you had to buy your own. They have a small mini fridge that does not have a freezer, it does however have a cooler section. But you couldn't fit much in either. The TV was a little funky and didn't work that great unless you were up before everyone else. They offer a tub but no ability to take a bath and the drainage wasn't great because of all the sand that gets washed off so there was always a couple inches of water so makes it pretty slippery. The carpet outside the door smell terrible. I had to hold my breath otherwise I got nauseous and I wasn't the only one who noticed. Their location is nice but to walk down to the beach you have to go through a patch of sand that is so saturated in pet urine it's change the color and definitely smells. Everything around food wise was so expensive! I spent $75 at the grocery store for 2 meals, dinner and lunch, and 2 snacks. My friend got food from one of the restaurants and spent $50 on a small amount of noodles and 4 miniature corn dogs with fries. However the view was amazing! And we had a ton of fun on the beach.

We stay here at least once a year. This is not a chain Motel. It's a small town business that employs a handful of hard working people. Support the local economy and have a good time in the process. The beds have always been comfortable. This year we found our room had a new love seat, new carpeting and new bathroom flooring. Shower pressure is fine. We like our second floor kitchenette that gives us real plates for re-heating our Upper Crust Pizza. The kitchenette also provides pots pans, glasses, cups and silverware. I like the saltwater pool that is running a little cooler this year. Cooler is better for my morning lap swimming. Update: 2024. There is no longer a pool at this location. I’m sad but it’s still our go to place to stay in Rockaway. Room cooling is controlled by opening the windows and cracking the front door to let a good cross breeze. Ah that ocean sound. An occasional kite drifts by our window. Five stars? Yes for the view view view and easy beach access.
