Rockaway is our favorite mall. Tonight we arrived around 7:30, and ate dinner at the food court, formally known as the Dining Pavillion. We noticed a few new food options there. I chose a lamb sandwich on pita bread with a mango iced tea from Hummus Grill. The delicious ground lamb patties were mixed with mint and garnished with diced veggies. Mango iced tea was a great accompaniment. The young woman who helped me was very friendly and helpful. She answered all my questions about food and drinks that I really wasn't familiar with. My hubbie chose a gyro, but from Great Wraps. We both really like lamb, so I offered him a bite of my sandwich. He thought it tasted great! He said that next time he'd follow me to Hummus Grill. Walking out of the dining area, we passed an ice cream stand. It reminded me of NYC, or Atlantic City gelato stores. After sampling, I chose a scoop of coffee ice cream, and enjoyed every bite. Llama Ice Cream was the best mall ice cream I ever tasted. We briefly stopped in a few stores, and enjoyed walking off a few of our dinner calories. All in all, we had a very pleasant...
Read moreThey say New Jersey malls are struggling, and this one certainly reflects that during weekdays. However, it boasts numerous sales from various clothing stores, with discounts like 50% off. Parking is plentiful, and there's a typical food court with familiar options. Unfortunately, the Starbucks there disappointed me. PF Chang's is often empty, while The Cheesecake Factory occupies the other side. Overall, it's a rather ordinary mall, but it does offer a nice play area for kids and modern lounge chairs with built-in charging stations. Read moreI love this mall! They have a kids play area but of course with COVID it is closed off. The food courts have reopened which is great. The stores are limited but still a pretty good selection. Macys, Victoria Secret, Cheesecake Factory, Apple Store are usually the bare essentials. The parking is free and there is usually a lot of parking. It gets a little congested now since they opened the vaccine center where Sears used to be but I'm not...
