My wife and I visited this quaint little public park on the morning of October 11, 2004 while on a windshield tour of the post-card perfect little town of Rockport, Maine. Parking was free, and there was plenty of it at about 9:00 am during the last week of the tourist season. We stopped there for about 20 minutes to walk around the park and take some photos of the adjacent wharf. A large schooner (Heron) was about to get underway with a load of tourists, so that added to the ambiance of the scenery. There was also an old lime rock quarry railroad terminus here, so the park has several displays of the old machinery and a lime kiln, including a Vulcan steam engine dating back to the late 1800s. On the north end of the park, there is also a neat little sculpture of ANDRE the harbor seal, who lived in the cove back in the 1950s and 60s. This place is definitely worth a 20-30 minute stop for the scenery and photo op if you happen to be passing through or staying in the nearby Rockland, Rockport, or Camden townships, or just passing through the area for lunch or dinner. The little Rockport cove that this park fronts was one of the prettiest we saw during our one week tour of the Downeast...

If you're a photographer, Rockport Marine Park is a must-visit. Overlooking Rockport Harbor, the park offers stunning views of sailboats, rocky shorelines, and the iconic Andre the Seal statue. The scenery here is just breathtaking—whether you’re capturing the morning light glistening off the water or the golden hour as the sun sets over the harbor, you'll find endless photo opportunities.

The park’s peaceful vibe and well-maintained spaces make it perfect for snapping photos in every direction. The coastal landscape, statue, and maritime history all come together to create unique and beautiful shots.

Local Tip: The light is fantastic here, especially in the morning...

A much quieter harbor experience from downtown Camden. We enjoyed walking around and reading about the steam locomotive, lime kilns, and Andre the Seal. Great views of Rockport Harbor. We even got to see an artist set up with his easel. There are a number of benches along the water and wheelchair accessible. There were restrooms and a Porta potty at the park, although we did not use them, so I can't speak to the cleanliness of them. Definitely worth...
