Baskin-Robbins — Restaurant in Mission

You know I’m not a huge fan of chain type stores, but this one seems to do it right. In an area that seems fraught with local area merchants. This place seems to still pile people in despite a small local ice cream shop literally several doors down. It seems they know their clientele. I overheard one saying they’ve been coming for years and her brother was in one of the photo collages on the wall. That’s cool, shows tradition, and a respect for their customers. They also have reasonable prices.

I’ve been to lots of Baskin Robbins. Most are very similar, antiseptic, and somewhat boring. This has a bit of pizazz, but largely the same baskin-Robbins flavors. All in all, a good place with a bit more homey feel than most brs. Good parking...

I love the sugar free caramel chocolate chunk ice cream here! They do not always have it in but when it is In, I go there every other day for a scoop! It literally does not taste like sugar free ice cream. When you bite into the creamy vanilla ice cream with the caramel through if, and then the chocolate chunk settles on your taste buds, OMG! It takes me back to my childhood days in Hawaii of swimming and then that ice cream cone for 10 cents. I remember sitting there in the shade watching the waves while eating those ice cream cones with my three brothers, watching the sea breeze swirl all around you and the sea gulls sing while they dip for fish. I was looking forward to getting ice cream on a warm summer night. I was behind a couple in line and watched as one of the young girls who was scooping ice cream lean into the freezer and allow her hair to fall into a tub adjacent to the one she was using. For the next few minutes I watched as she repeatedly did this. A woman in line politely alerted the girl of what she was doing and she just glared back at her as if offended. The rest of the girls working glared as well and seemed upset that she was being called out. I will never visit this location again. When she asked to speak with a manager they told her none...
