Great spot!! The beach is wide and usually not too crowded. It is a wonderful place to watch the sunrise. There are usually just a few folks out and about. The long painted bench is also spectacular. It is a great community art project every summer. Right next to the beach is a pier you can walk out onto to see the water and the downtown skyline. One really awesome thing is that the neighborhood is super diverse so the park is as well. There are lots of places to grill and put out a picnic spread. There is a paid parking lot on the north end of the beach. The beach is also close to some great food spots on Pratt as well like Taichi.

I absolutely love the Rogers Park community—it’s full of art and great vibes! Loyola Beach is such a casual, wide-open space with lots of greenery, perfect for relaxing or being active. One of my favorite things is how the graffiti art changes every year, always bringing fresh and meaningful messages. There’s space for volleyball, a grassy field for playing sports, and even a cozy cocktail bar right in the middle. In the summer, they often have live music there, which just adds to the amazing atmosphere. Loyola Beach is such a gem—definitely one of my favorite spots!

Absolutely love this space 😍 great spot to veiw sunset or sunrise, air traffic waiting their turn to land, the tidal movement of the waves, etc Many ppl walk their dogs along the beach and they are good about keeping their dog's poop picked up. Not a lot of trash. Lots of rocks that may be sharp on kid's feet. Water shoes are a nice idea! Rocky and pebbling beach with lots of sand, too. Trails with prairie planting just adjacent, as well as a pier to walk out onto.

The beach was pretty good. Parking was $2/hour (some car didn't have their parking ticket on their dashboard though). There were a lot of people enjoying the water with their family. There were good amount of space for folks to play soccer too. The bad thing was we found some broken glasses inside the sand. It was my 3 years old son who found them. I use my tile for size comparison. Please be careful and don't litter.

As a self-identified beach snob from the east coast, I’ve really struggled to find a good beach here in Chicago, until I came here. It’s pretty big so you aren’t on top of people which is important to me, and the water is really clear. There’s a nice park that fills up with people grilling too.

My all time favorite beach. Just a few blocks from my old apartment. Its clean, easily accessible and kid friendly with a playground. Even has paid parking and a trail for walking. Great to bring the grille on a hit summer day and enjoy bbq while splashing in the waves from Lake Michigan!
