I had a terrible experience at the Sportsman’s Warehouse in Rohnert Park. I bought a tent for a 4-day camping trip on July 2nd, and on the first use, I found the rainfly was missing a hook. When I packed up, the tent poles also came apart because the cord inside them failed. When I brought it back, the store manager (Sheila) was incredibly rude and accusatory. She treated me like I was trying to scam the store, even though the product was clearly defective. I explained everything calmly, even showed her the broken parts, and mentioned I used my phone number at checkout (which they’ve used before to look up past purchases). She claimed they couldn’t look it up, dismissed everything I said, and told me I had broken it myself. The next day I returned, and the same manager again refused to help, mocked me, raised her voice, and ultimately told me I was banned from the store. I never asked for a refund just to have a broken product made right. The way I was treated was humiliating and completely uncalled for. I’ve shopped here many times, but after this experience, I won’t be returning. I’m sharing this so others are aware. A company like Sportsman’s Warehouse should take responsibility for defective gear and treat customers with basic respect.

After purchasing a defective item from Sportsman's at another state, Scott the manager at the Rohnert Park store called us and said he would take care of us and was friendly. However, on 1/20/18 when we went to the store we had to be helped by a larger woman with piercings and she seemed to be very moody. In fact, I asked the staff at check out if they were having a good day. She replied with a laugh and said they are understaffed and proceeded with her monotone straight faced attitude. It only concerns me because everyone shopping at Sportsman's are happy people! We are there fulfilling our hobbies, there by preference, not by necessity. We aren't there to buy groceries. We are there to enjoy the shopping experience and buy things that make us happy. You would think the staff at checkout would reflect that and encourage that instead of bring people down.

I’ve never experienced such poor service in a retail firearms department. Sportsman’s Warehouse in Rohnert Park is severely understaffed, especially in the firearms section. The appointment versus walk-in system is completely broken. Even if you’re just picking up a box of ammo you already ordered, you can expect to wait nearly TWO HOURS!! It is disorganized, inefficient, and incredibly frustrating. Very disappointing experience.

My experience with this store and the employees and management has been by far the worst experience that I've had. They're incompetent to fix their mistakes and value their customers. I've been their customer for a long time and have purchased multiple firearms, clothes, accessories, etc from them yet they don't care to make it right.

I purchased a shot gun and they had told me as soon as they had it available for me to pick it up they would call me or email me. I waited weeks and weeks and no update. Just to later find out they had had it in store ready for two weeks. A year later, that shotgun was no longer working properly so I took it to them to ship it to Baretta, after I had to arrange it all with Baretta since sportsman's did not bother to help and they did not ship it for three weeks. They only shipped it since I called Baretta and they told me the tracking had not left sportmans and when I called sportsman's they told me they had not shipped it yet and were just holding it in their store for weeks. I expressed my frustration and they finally shipped it near a month later. So I had no shot gun for more than three months. Then i purchased a second one with a 3 year protection plan and 10 days later (californias law when purchasing a firearm) they told me they no longer offered the 3 year protection plan and tried to give me a gift card for what i had paid. I asked to have it honored since i purchased it before they canceled the protection plans. On top of all of that, i had made a purchase online and it said it was ready to pick up, just to be told it wasn't ready yet and i had driven 50 minutes there and back for nothing. I've called multiple times and have tried to speak to management and i always get a dumb excuse as to why i cant. Not to mention most of their employees show different treatment towards hispanics and even one of their employees noticed and told me it wasn't right. Im ready to go to the better business bureau and take this to corporate. I highly reccomend going to Sportmans Arms in Petaluma instead...

Well. We went there a few month ago for the first time. We did look for a tent to buy and decided to go with an offer they had on sale. It was the display unit and they started looking for the box and missing parts. 20 minutes later we were told that they couldn’t find the missing box. 20 minutes wasted. Anyway, the same tent is still up for sale and I find that interesting. A second time we went in to look into purchasing two handguns. The counter is kind of unorganized and no one can really tell who came when and who is next. It was kind of busy and after about 15 minutes waiting without being addressed by anyone we decided to leave and come back when it is a better (read slower) time. So today, 12/16/2019 we went in and there was only one person on the counter that was helped and one seems to be waiting to be helped. We looked at the guns they have and waited for someone to show up. It seemed that there was only one working and we waited. After awhile the gentlemen that was before us decided to leave, my guess was that he waited already for a while. Anyway, a few minutes later a lady stood to the left of us and were waiting also. The only person working took some paperwork from the customer he is helping and walked right by us with out even looking at us or acknowledging that he will help us when he can. We found that strange and even more so when we saw that he had time to help the lady that came after us without hesitation. I am not saying that this seems racist but being ignored sure gets me thinking. After the lady was helped he came back, right in front of us, again without even looking at us We left the place and I do t think that I would consider them...

I'm not from the area, but my favorite outdoor range is in Petaluma, and I was starting early enough where this was the only place open to buy supplies.

  1. There are barely any other cars in the parking lot and there's a homeless encampment in the far end of the lot.

  2. First big box type store I've been to that doesn't separate it's ammo counter from the gun counter. Buying a gun takes an hour at least, buying ammo takes about 20 minutes, you separate the two so as not to waste anyone's time.

I get there and there's two lost looking gun purchasers and one other lost looking ammo purchaser. An employee appears, tells us two ammo people to stand in a designated line and tells the gun people to pull numbers. Then he disappears in the back. I wait for what feels like an eternity, but I don't want to leave my car unattended in a homeless encampmented parking lot for too long, so I just picked up a box of clays and headed for the check-out counter.

  1. Nobody was at the chashier counters, I loitered like an idiot some more until I noticed activity at the return/customer service desk and paid for the clays there.

Against my better judgement I went back AFTER the range because the ammo prices were pretty reasonable. Two employees servicing two different customers that seemed to be purchasing guns. I timed myself for 10 more minutes of loitering like an idiot to see if I'd get any help or engagement from staff, which was too much to hope for, and left empty handed.

I'm convinced that some of the reasonably priced ammo they have on display is pre-shortage ammo that nobody's been able to buy for 17 months.

0/10, would not...
