Made reservation through 3rd party app, no mention of deposit anywhere on the listing. Arrive to hotel and get greeted with a snotty desk clerk that informs us we have to pay a $100 deposit. We show the itinerary from 3rd party of price we agreed to pay and we’re only paying that. They reluctantly let us get our room without the deposit.
We get to our room and there is damage all over the walls, construction debris in the air conditioner fan that blows INTO the room, stains on the sheets, blankets, and pillows, cigarette burn in the chair, and to top it all off…a friggin cockroach in the room. I work in pest control and typically where there’s one roach, there’s more hiding.
Wife goes to front desk and surprisingly they give us a different room. Get into second room and there’s stained sheets and bedding, damage on the walls, and over 1 1/2 inch gap at bottom of door so noise and light come in as if the door was open. We stay the night. Wake up in the morning and get informed that the 3rd floor is being evacuated due to the active construction and they would have to move us to a different room, on a different floor.
They didn’t and wouldn’t give us a new room that morning as they had lacked the foresight to communicate between shifts, communicate to customers renting rooms, and/or communicate to manager (who for 4 days while we were there was nowhere to be seen). We packed our stuff out of the room and loaded up and went about our day.
Later that afternoon, we miss a call from front desk. My wife returns the call later that evening and front desk clerk (different shift now) asks us if we have checked out already. My wife, confused by that question, tells him no and explains the situation to front desk clerk over the phone. During the call, he hangs up on her. We call back later and they’ve finally (after midnight) got us into a new room. We get in and find damage to walls, stains on bedding, etc. Notice a trend yet?
Wake up early the next morning and find a “receipt” slid under our door (this room had another 1 1/2 inch gap under it. They had “reduced” the price for the room because instead of two queen beds, like we reserved, they gave us a room with two full beds.
We get the car loaded up and go, one last time, to the office to try and contact manager. No manager can be found or contacted. We drive all the way back home to Oregon. Try calling a couple times today to contact manager about all of this, no manager available.
This hotel and staff is an absolute joke. From what I was told by my family who we were visiting it sounds like it’s a step up, barely, from what it used to be, but it is still garbage.
Whatever you do, do not ever stay here. From staff’s lack of communication, absence of manager on duty, constant construction (7 days a week, started at 7am each day), bums sleeping in the grass on the property, and freeway noise…it’s not even worth staying, even if...

I mean, don't expect the installation to be the work of a high end contractor but nothing was gross and the shower was clean/nice to use. The TV was a good size and acceptable quality. Easily accessible HDMI port to plug a laptop/chromecast into. Definitely way better than most motels I've been in, even many hotels. I really liked the desk area with office chair. Was easy to get some extra work in without needing to camp out in the nearby Starbucks. Plenty of outlets including USB outlets to charge things from.
So far, would have been an easy 4 stars from me if everything else was "good enough" but sadly it fell short:
Bed was easily one of the most uncomfortable beds I've slept in and one of the worst pillows I've used. Even bargain bin Ikea pillows are more comfortable. Bed is hard as a rock to lay on and only two sheets with a paper thin "comforter" layer is all you get on top. I would have been better off bringing in some my own blankets and pillows and sleeping on the floor. The AC compressor worked fine but the option to run the fan didn't. As someone who relies on fan noise to fall asleep ESPECIALLY in loud motels this was a bummer. Because the fan barely worked the cool air just sort of diffused out of the AC unit (which was fine but it wasn't a super hot day) Loud neighbors who constantly banged against walls in the middle of the night - there's little soundproofing from the outside or in surrounding units. It could have certainly been worse and some of that isn't the motel's fault. But still, there's little saving you from loud noises (including traffic or loud people in parking lot). The curtains don't have an inside sheet for privacy, so if you want the curtains open there is zero privacy. So cave mode it is.
Neutral: Wifi worked but was painfully slow, especially in the evenings (speed tests showed as low as 5mbs). Was fine enough to stream some youtube or do web browsing but wouldn't want to try streaming any HD movies from it or doing important video calls.
To be honest, I would stay here again if it wasn't' for the bed. It's just...
Read moreMy husband needed a place to stay that was cheap and as close as possible to the new job he accepted in San Rafael (32 minute drive). This was going to be a temporary home while we looked for something permanent. This motel had the cheapest rates but no frills (Coffee pot, fridge, microwave) in the room. After a week away I was missing him so I drove the 9 hours to be with him for a week... well that turned into almost 3 weeks! True that you do not have a microwave or coffee pot in your room, who cares, it is just an elevator ride at the most to access the ones in the office! What I have found here is a great staff (getting coffee in the am is worth the trip the days that Milizza is working.. and even the days she isn't!), a wonderful maintenance crew, a great cleaning staff and a quiet and safe place! Being a diabetic on insulin and trying to save costs we bought a small trash can and filled it with ice each night to keep things cold. I asked the front desk if there was access to a refrigerator, they said they would put me on a waiting list for one. Well, this was a sold out prom weekend and I wasn't expecting anything... about an hour later, maintenance was at my door with the fridge! There are several restaurants and store within walking distance and even more within a miles drive. It is very quiet, even though we are right next to the freeway, the rooms are pretty sound proof. The only downfall I could find was the TV's are very old and only get a few stations, most are so dark you can not see the picture. The other downfall is the internet... I agree it is pretty unheard of these days to have to pay for internet at a motel! You can always go to Shari's down the street. They are open 24 hours, have great food (free pie on Wednesdays!) and free internet! I could go on forever about the wonderful staff here and the great people I have met while staying here... but a better suggestion, come find out for yourself!!! I found that the best price deals are on the internet through Expedia, Hotwire and Priceline. It is about $10 more per night going through the front desk. If it is one night, a weekend or extended stay you need, I highly recommend this...
