This was a place that I would attend more often than not. It was busy not at the start but gradually got busier during my stay and I definitely see why.
I do recommend you take the garlic knots with your meal as a starter. They are pretty smart because I would guess that they know that starter will set it off. Once you dip it in their sauce (or the marinara) and place it into your mouth you will understand a chewy, buttery, soft explosion will erupt. Then, you might take another bite, and know that this one was crispy initially, letting you into that chewiness that you were aware of the first time. The sauce is another thing of the present. You will need to experience that on your own, it's very pleasant and not a strong taste at all. You might ask the owner what's in the sauce and it might not be told.
Of course then the pizza comes on a silver platter. They sure know how to meld the flavors all over the pizza, peppery, tangy, meaty and rich, not like any ordinary pizza. I won't recommend one you have to ascertain which you would prefer and when you do I highly doubt you will be disappointed for sure.
Try them out.
The music from what I remember was mostly blues rock, or blues, and the scenery was decorative with witty signs and knick knacks. Anyplace you look you'll see something a little intriguing or humorous to read. You'll see that they have books on pizza too which I enjoyed the notion. Kind of an old style, homey type of bar feel. There is a bar with stools and tables align the wall but also right in the entrance there are single seating tables. They also have outside seating and a bathroom unisex or family.
Everyone, super friendly and moving as fast as they can whilst holding a smile. When they asked me how I liked the food, I couldn't put it in...
Read moreWhen I first moved here to Roseburg with my fiancé back in December, we had no idea what kind of food to expect from the local dining scene. We love good pizza, and kept hearing about this place from locals and friends. Oh man is Roseburg lucky to have this place! Seriously, this is Portland level good. The charred bubbly crust, the fresh toppings, I could eat here every day. The BBQ Chicken pizza is my favorite! Close runner-ups are the Mrs. White and the Bigfoot Joe. It is also fun to check out their daily special pies, which can get interesting with the toppings. Local beer on tap, the garlic knots are awesome. What else can I say, this is one of the best pizza places in Oregon. My fiancé and I came from the coast, where pizzas would set you back by $30 or more. And not even good pizza, just meh. Old Souls pies are not only amazing, but they are reasonably priced. A large pie is less than $20. Cannot beat that. During COVID, we have been doing take out here. They can get a little slow, especially on the weekends. But it is worth the...
