First - I wish there was a '3.5' rating. I feel 3 is actually a bit harsh but I don't quite feel this was a 4. In part this is due to a comparison against another certain brewery in town. If you just went here on its own, a 4 could be merited.
Firstly the beer. It wasn't the biggest beer menu in the world for those of you who want 17 IPA's or to do flights of beers, but it was actually fine for us. We found a lager and a Pale Ale. I was a bit disappointed in the Pale if I'm honest. It was a bit too malty for me (YMMV), you might be able to tell that from the picture. I also prefer a bit of a hop in mine. I'm told the lager was solid.
Food was actually decent. Sadly we missed the Smokin Friday that everyone was raving about, but the Chorizo sausage and the Caprese sandwich were both good.
Atmosphere was where I marked it down a bit. Despite there being only 2 or 3 tables occupied, our server was on the phone constantly, serving us with the phone jammed in one ear. It wasn't 'bad' but when you compare to the service elsewhere is when you start to mark it down. So beer and service weren't as nice as elsewhere. Not bad - I must stress - but not as good as...
Read moreFirst-off, north Forty Has a well designed loft that allows you to look over the whole place and down into the brewing area. The styling of the place is really creative, with the solid steel & wood construction of both the tables and chairs gives it a unique charm/ rustic look. Although the chairs n' tables are really heavy and can hard to lift with one arm on your first take. (they're much heavier than they look, haha). The staff, bartender, and the owners of the establishment are quite friendly. Really nothing bad about the place only there's temporarily no stout ( mostly because they just opened). It's awesome that they're hosting real rock on opening night, and I hope they continue to have events like this in the future. Really a homey and rustic brewery, with a special atmosphere of its own like any...
Read moreWe were there last Sunday for Breakfast, customer service was excellent, the food I had (wasn’t enough) but was good, I have never been to breakfast where the potatoes are a side dish and toast wasn’t offered. Breakfasts usually consist of egg (any style)bacon, ham or sauges, and has browns, that’s what usually comes with breakfast, and toast. I ordered eggs Benedict and it was so tasty but wasn’t enough, if it had come with hasbrowns it would have been better, it doesn’t have to come with meat (you have the ham, doesn’t have to come with toast you have the English muffins, I loved the place and would go back many times if thr breakfast menu was changed to include the followingzBacon, sauges,or ham,Hashbrowns or potatoes, and toast. Thank...
