Brix Grill — Restaurant in Roseburg

Tl;dr: overly long waits, no one is wearing masks, service was forgetful and kind of rude.

I will start out by saying I know what it's like to wait for a restaurant after the pandemic has messed everything up and made it slower. This isn't that. I waited an hour for food here to go. I placed my order and it took an hour to get out to me. I ordered a chicken salad and the honey ginger salmon. Two things that shouldn't take too long but like I said I get things take a bit longer in the pandemic. The thing is no one was cleaning tables after guests left, no one in the kitchen was wearing masks or taking extra steps to ensure cleanliness. There wasn't much reason for it. On top of that when we got the food we took it out to my car and my girlfriend ate while I drove because we had been waiting so long. It was cold, we are pretty sure it had been sitting for a while and no one brought it to us. We didn't receive any dressing for her salad and when I opened my meal they had forgotten the salad that was supposed to come with it. They charged me for it still. I wont be going back unless things are made right by management. I'm sure they don't care about the mask issue like most businesses around Roseburg but the lack of service is sad for any business.

The food was good though. My salmon was good, everything was tasty. My girlfriends salad only had like three chips and just a whole bunch of Leafy greens without much else. The chicken on it was seasoned well though.

I've been here a few times when I come to visit my family members that own a business on the same street and today was my worst experience there by far. We were only a table of 5 plus a child but she shared my food so only 5 orders. It took well over an hour. I actually had to track down a server after 15-20 minutes just to try to get some milk for my 4 year old daughter. (Normally you take drink orders right after you seat people.) They took our order when I finally got someone to come for drinks but it still took them over 15 possibly 20 minutes to bring us milk. My daughter was so hungry we actually had to get some snacks from our car and bring them in for her to eat. And 20 minutes after that I asked how soon our order was going to be ready because a hungry kid isn't very enjoyable for us parents. One of the servers brought me a bowl of fruit (super grateful/$5 extra on the tip) But it took around an hour for our food to come. The table of 3 that they moved for us to get a bigger table ordered/finished/paid and left before we even got our food. I've worked in about 10 restaurants and if that ever happens the servers always checked in on the patrons and tried to at least make them feel like they weren't forgotten and that didn't happen for us. On Sunday we had reservations for 10 people for 12 noon to celebrate my birthday. We were seated quickly but everything went down from there. After about 25 minutes the waitress took our orders. The food came out of the kitchen an hour later. My sister and I ordered Eggs Benedict. Its my favorite meal and was the reason we went to Brix Grill to celebrate as in the past it was the best in Roseburg. I was so excited, as I hadn't eaten anything since I woke up and it was past 1:40PM when my food was put in front of me. The hollandaise sauce was thin and runny with very little flavor. My excitement turned to disappointment and dismay. I asked my sister how her hollandaise sauce was, thinking perhaps mine was an anomaly. She agreed with me that it was the worst she had ever had. I am 75 years old and have eaten eggs benedict in restaurants around the USA. That was the worst I have ever eaten. I told the waitress to tell the cook but there was no explanation nor any reaction what so ever from the restaurant, waitress or cook. We paid the bill and left . Apparently the new owners and cook donot know how to make Hollandaise sauce and yet it appears a number of times on their menu.
