Carmen Tailor and Dry Cleaner — Attraction in Roselle Park

I will start by saying that my experience with them was great until it wasnt. They are very nice people and for the most part had great customer service. Weekly we dropped off no less than 10 pieces all name brand slacks and button downs. We had a few small incidents before we decided to speak to Carmen and her team, we overlooked them because sometimes things just happen. Small iron markings, burns that although tiny we knew had transpired at their facility. The last straw for us was having seen 3 barely worn new slacks- all name brand Burnt in the exact same spot 2 of them, the 3rd one had white spots in the front and back completely ruined.and 1 button down with visible iron marks , it was white so it was very obvious. We stopped by a usual on our day off to talk to them and see what could’ve caused the issues since they use an outside party . To make it short, they completely avoided to take responsibility. They said and tried several times to implement that the clothes most likely came in damaged from smoking… which we absolutely do not smoke. The shirt was stated it came in very dirty.. to which I responded, am I suppose to wash my clothes before bringing them to be cleaned? To which they responded off course not… And fyi the shirt was not filthy, the pit area was soiled because its hot and deodorant Not stained, the iron stains were visible on the sleeves . She gave me a credit for 50 dollars to use And said shed try to repair the ones burnt She patched them and yea , those are a loss as well. Its unfortunate that a small business cant take responsibility for a damage that was clearly caused by their third party. Instead they kept finding excuses to put the blame on the customer As a consumer, it was very hard to continue business with them despite the welcoming environment they provided. Save yourself some trouble and make sure that if you do use their services and something happens to your hard earned items, they will not take accountability but instead try to make you feel like you...

The first time ever going to a Tailor and she did not disappoint! I read a lot of reviews about Tailors cutting corners with tapering jeans, and so I was a bit skeptical, however I called to ask about my concerns. I spoke to Carmen on the phone and she explained how professional her work was ( she works with the seam stitch of the pants, most Tailors don't)

So I Went in with my two favorite pants that were now fitting unpropationally baggy (since my weight loss of 70 pounds), and we're a couple sizes larger at the waist. Didn't want to throw them away, and so I heard from a local to see if they'd recommend a Tailor. I'm still amazed...

Carmen confidently assured me that she does all types of work, and she fixes up sizes on the spot, so don't forget to bring your items. After that takes a couple days to get it ready and barabing; I get to wear me my favorite luscious Slacks thanks to her. The fit is so specific, and she did a tremendous job.

So I choose this place based off the many good reviews here on Google and it's close to home. However, my husband and I unfortunately had different experience. We brought in a few items, one dress for alterations and everything else for dry cleaning, including my husband's suit which was for a wedding. Biggest mistake my husband made was paying for the items and leaving without looking over them with the staff. The next day he takes his suit out and the suit still has stains and we noticed multiple holes and stitching different from the material of the suit, we were livid we literally had about 2 hrs before we had to be at the wedding. The next day I go back to pick up the rest of my items and show (I'm guessing Carmen) the damage to my husband's suit jacket. She was very apologetic but offered no real explanation or solution, she didn't even offer a refund for at least the damage done to the jacket. She had me send the pics to her cell and she would show the company/ppl who does that service. ONLY reason I gave 2 stars is because the alterations to my dress were decent and our other items were ok. Wish I could post the pics, definitely won't...
