Desi Brothers — Attraction in Round Rock

A well stocked, large supermarket for farm produce, staples and groceries for Indian cuisines, sourced from India as well as regional. These include trusted and popular Indian brands found all over the subcontinent – north, south, east and west. We found all the vegetables, spices and other ingredients one needs for a wide range of vegetarian and vegan cuisines – all fresh and at attractive prices. Available were many Indian brands of yoghurt (dahi), batters (dosa, idli, etc), sweets–mithai, protein mixes (lassi, for example), and such. The store carries a wide range of flour (chakki atta), fragrant rice (chawal), all the grains, oils, sugars, sauces, masalas, and garnishes. This Desi Brothers farmers market also has a large selection of Indian snacks, convenience items, Indian cooking utensils and hardware. The store's shelves are efficiently organized, and the staff is eager to help. This is a new supermarket in Round Rock conveniently located near I-35 and TX-45. Prices are pretty much competitive to other grocery stores in Round Rock.

However, customer service can be improved. When I went to checkout. There were two counters. In the first counter, cashier was on the phone, may be taking an order. Didnt acknowledged me. So I go to the second counter, where 3 gentlemen were sorting out some curry leaves or greens and placing in small bags. One worker tells me to go back to the first counter. I took my cart and went back to the first counter, still the cashier was on the phone. I place my groceries in the belt, and she start ringing the groceries, and half way through the call is over. Decent groceries especially their produce section. Mostly better quality than those found at MT Supermarket, prices are at par with MT too. Though, MT has more selections.

Their other items are impressive as well. Downside, many merchandise can be found shelved at wrong spots or with the wrong price tags. This would at times surprise you upon checking out - good if it scans cheaper than assumed labeled prices, it's a gamble all the same if one doesn't double check the SKU or description found on the tags.

Snacks, rice, frozen goods (seafood, ice cream, etc), spices, soap, shampoo, hair dyes, cookware, dishes, among others - wide selections, as well.

Best time to shop would be weekdays, before 5pm - there'd be literally no lines, or...
