Third Base — Restaurant in Round Rock

I don't really post/rate places, but I really felt like something has to be said of this place. That being said, I'd like to point out that we didn't show up expecting GREAT service, but decent service at most. We showed up on a busy night (Halloween and game 6 of the World Series - so yes, we get that they'd be busy) and wanted to stop for a few drinks to celebrate a birthday. As soon as we walked in the sign clearly said please seat yourself, so we did. Found a table and waited. And waited. And waited. Until finally about 20 minutes later we decided to ask a bartender if there were any servers around. They said they'd send someone. About 5 minutes later we got a server to come up and ask us what we'd like. We order our drinks and wait another 15-20 minutes. Finally get our drinks (which one turned out horrible) and the server walks away. Took us another 20 minutes to find the server to cash out. Once we got our tab we tell him the drink was bad and he flat out asked us if we let the bartender know. We said no and he just walked away without a care in the world. We then decided to find a spot at the bar in hopes that it might be a little better. Bartender gets our drinks and asks us to open a tab. We gave a card and then realized we gave the wrong card and asked that they put the tab on a different card. She seemed bothered and takes the card. Does whatever she had to do and hands it back. Little did we know, she did nothing and ran the wrong card at the end of our visit. We just found out today - not a big deal but a simple request wasn't followed. Also, one last thing....I'd be wary of ordering any wine from here. I don't think it’s quite up to health code standards. Never seen a paper towel as a cork stop for wine. Sorry Third Base -...

I came here to test out the atmosphere, food, and service because I have a big group happy hour I need to plan for 50 ppl next month and it is safe to say I had a terrible experience today at happy hour. I understand if a restaurant is busy the service will be slower but today was not the case. Sat at the bar with two other people and took awhile to get talked to. Once the bartender did talk to us she didn't explain any of their happy hour specials or offer us a menu either. I ordered my usual makers neat ($7 not too bad). Bartender brings it with ice but does fix the mistake when I asked for it again. After 35 minutes we ask for a menu and order another drink. The food did come out promptly well half of it but it was also good, we got fried pickles. My biggest problem came when the check was delivered. They charged me 28 dollars for two drinks (my friend picked up the fried pickles on their tab). I kindly asked why my bill was so high and she went and checked the computer and came back with the receipt and copy to sign. The receipt said $16 and once again the signed copy said $28. At this point she tried to get me to sign a copy for $28 twice now. This really annoyed me because that is 12 dollars over my bill twice now. After explaining this to the bartender she explains well there is 4 of us back here so things get mixed up? After all of this with my bill my friends were also charged double for two of their drinks. Mortifying Experience- My work colleges and I came here last weekend after work and overall had a good experience. Unfortunately this visit tonight (Friday) was nothing like before. From the moment we sat in the patio it took someone over 20 mins to acknowledge us! We ordered drinks which came 10mins later. I only ordered a water and never received it after asking 2 different servers that were at our table and personally getting out of my seat to ask our server! She says ok! Mind you it’s been 1 hour and I still have NO drink. I physically had to go to the bar to get one myself. Unreal! Sad thing is that’s not even the worst part of the evening! We were then switched servers during the middle of our visit. I requested my check for my food at 1:15am. I didn’t get it till 2am when a cop was pushing everyone out of the patio. When the checks do come it’s completely incorrect! As were telling her no one had any of this she just kinda looking at all of us like “well I don’t know”! So after explaining again that these checks don’t belong to this table she finally leaves to get the correct checks. What an absolute disaster. There were drinks on there that were never even ordered or brought to our table, then as we’re trying to get things straightened out a group of 3 servers were just glaring and talking about us knowing we could hear them. Then the bartender is yelling at us to leave and we can’t we haven’t paid! Then a bus boy walks by stating he wishes he could punch us in our faces!
