My experience is two-fold. The first incident was with the fact that we went today because my daughter won a free ticket through the RR library and of course, I left it in the car. I paid her $3 entry fee and when I went and got the coupon out of the car, the "staff supervisor," if you can call a teenage boy sitting at a table playing with folding paper a supervisor, and another young woman told me that they can't do refunds. Ok, it was $3 and it was the reason we went. Give me $3 and take the coupon. After two calls to RR Parks and Rec, they refused to refund the money. It's the principal and lack of any kind of caring that pissed me off.
The second incident was with my friend who came with her four kids. I am just going to copy and paste the texts because I left before she did. And this happened after my daughter told me that the bathrooms are always nasty...
"Ok before we left I had to get us changed into our clothes and right when my children are changing in the bathroom a woman came to me and said that there was poo on the floor in one of the bathrooms and it happened to be the one where Elizabeth was in and she got it all over the bathing suit so I had to throw it away cause I was not about to have that in my car more less in my washer machine but totally gross."
I told her how disgusting that was and asked if she told anyone and no, she doesn't want to go back and neither do I really, but after all, I have to go back to use her coupon by the 15th, I just have to pay for three more people too..
"Yeah they seemed as if they didn't care."
Surprise, surprise. Not impressed Round Rock, not impressed at all. Someone took a dump on the floor and a seven year-old stepped in it and lost a bathing suit because of it.
Oh, I almost forgot, my son was stepped on by another child and held under water. He busted his lip and when I notified the lifeguard, he didn't do a thing. He came home with a busted lip and multiple scrapes and cuts. He had a...
Read moreThe kids like the variety of things available to do here: they can enjoy the sprinkler features in the splash pad area (the boat has slides, but those are only for little kids), go down the (rather slow) slide for those over 48", try their skill on the crate walk, or swim in either the shallow or deep water.
There were lots of lounge chairs available, though very little shade. (As the afternoon progressed, there was a bit more). The kids all ripped their hands open on the rope for the crate walk, which (looking at the Bandaid log we had to fill out) seems to be a common problem. There are, of course, bathrooms available and the check in counter also offers some basic concessions. Though there was a camp there when we went, it didn't feel too crowded.
Beyond the lack of shade, my only complaint is that you have to pay to enter even if you have no plans to swim. Perhaps that's because of the number of people who chose to swim...
Read moreFun pool! I took my 2 and 5 year old daughters during the Round Rock PARD Pop Up so entrance was free, along with the food and drink etc they had to offer. This made it pretty crowded though but I assume it's not normally this crowded. They had a large slide that my daughter waited in line for but was sent back down for not being tall enough (I didn't see a sign at the bottom for height?) and she also did the lilly pad obstacle course thing (which also required 48" tall but the lg didn't say anything to her and she made it across). The ship area is great for littles, and it feeds into a little bit deeper pool. Then there's the larger lap pool area. There's not much shade around so that could be improved for sure. Otherwise there are picnic tables, chairs, other seating options, and a sand volleyball court. Staff seemed friendly and lgs...
