Truly friendly family owned business with excellent food that you and your whole family can enjoy no matter what your in the mood for Chinese, or Vietnamese food. They not only love the community here, but the food is fresh, and good tasting different than any other places offered in Round Rock, TX so far. They have gotten pretty diverse in the staff off, which is almost unheard of in many places. I been coming there for years off and on, and when I'm back in Texas I know where I want to eat. I'm pregnant now, and the food seriously just keeps getting better. So fresh and good. It's really not over priced for fresh food you get, and that taste all the ingredients that go into your dish. Ever get a cold/allergies? I highly recommend the chicken, or brisket Pho, because I believe good nutrition from food, helps your body heal, and overall a well balance into your well being, and soul. Which all the favors, and seasonings fresh inside the soup makes everything all better. (And you can breathe!!!) Sigh However, the wonton soup is pretty good as well, so is their combination rice noodles, and their beef skewers. Sometimes I will customize my wonton soup to have a shrimp inside the soup itself, i.e. ( like a "war wonton soup") etc. They recently remodeled the front room. Looks good for such a small place, that you probably could fit a wheel chair inside most the tables for eating in comfort. I like to get my food on my way home, usually to go, and they always have it pretty much ready in 20 minutes or less. I love love love the lemonade. Not kidding. It's just flat-out delicious! No one does it better. It's better than making it at home for some reason, and it's fresh. They also have pretty decent coffee. I like mine sweet and strong, and Vietnamese coffee, has a French quality to it that makes it more 'sit-down pleasurable' rather than on the go type of thing. Good comfort food for those rainy days as well. They best part is they deliver if your not able to get up! It's seriously so yummy. Go try it...
Read moreI was showing the wife a video that had some fine Asian dining on it. Lo and behold. That's what she wanted to eat.
Hao Hao is a restaurant we found during covid that we used to order from all the time but we've never actually come and sat down at this place.
We walked in and it was empty which was a good thing as it allowed me to take these beautiful pictures. Though it was one early dinner so there is time for people to show up.
Once seated the server came up with water and we ordered crab rangoon and the hot and sour soup.
The crab rangoon was so delicious. It was crispy and you could taste the crab.
The hot and sour soup was very thick, like a traditional soup and not watered down like a lot of restaurants.
For our entrees, my wife decided to get the pork ribs and I decided to get the happy family platter.
The four pork ribs for $9 for a huge. The Mrs made me eat two of her ribs so I was already halfway full before I started my food.
The happy family so it was awesome. Every piece of protein that they offer chicken, beef, shrimp pork.
All mixed together with a little bit of fried rice which you can choose what type of rice you want. I forgot to mention that he chose fried rice.
They also offer this extra fried rice to go since we had a little bit left over a plate.
Normally we get a dessert and we would have gotten the Chinese beignets but we were so full we did pass on that.
Lore East. I gave four stars for the atmosphere cuz I would have liked to see more people inside cuz in the time that we were there eating dinner no one came in. But they do a lot of to go and take out. So the food's fantastic. They've been here forever. Definitely come and...
Read moreSo this is an edit from our previous experiences. This is the second time we’ve come and been put off by the place. I hate to say it but the food was barely ok. Everything was way too sweet. The food came out in a huge rushed pile. Apps and everything all at once. The egg drop soup was lukewarm. They offered to warm it up but honestly I can use a microwave at home. They brought a different soup. Hot and sour. So with more than one sample of that we can say it was all bland. I tried a piece of the sesame chicken. Not good. Almost scorched and no crisp. The sweet and sour chicken looked like it came from a frozen Orida bag and was hard as a rock. My Mongolian beef was so so sweet. Almost couldn’t eat it. Got through maybe half. And everything had hotspots. In other words it tasted fresh outa the microwave. No thanks!
We even wondered if it had changed owners again. We asked and they said no. Maybe they were out of town. From my review below you can see they’ve definitely taken a turn down a very slippery slope. Sad to see.
Oh Hao we love you! I’ve been going to the Southern Hao Hao for a very long time and always loved it. This time we had occasion to go up in Round Rock. Now different owners but same delicious menu as before. And the execution was superb. Probably the most successful lunch outing for my entire family ever! The lady serving us was so happy and attentive and sweet. Every bite was an absolute pleasure! Really an amazing experience. Hao Hao...
