Giving the 3 stars, my plate was good, I got enchiladas with green sauce. My wife got mole chicken and it was not that great.
So you are seated and feel like sardines in a can, the tables are super close to one another but they are maximizing their square footage. I did not have an issue with it but my wife did not like it especially because they were so busy.
Sales and chips were good, wife wanted queso but that is not normally found in authentic Mexican restaurants, that is more of a Texmex thing.
We got the tongue tacos and they were really good.
I got the special, enchiladas with green sauce and chicken. My wife got the chicken mole. Food took FOREVER to come out the staff came by like 6 times to apologize, I told my wife it must have been due to the mole.
Food gets there and mine was automatic hot and my wife's was stone cold. They must have run out of chicken for the special. My dish was good, the chicken mole was bad, which was a shame because the mole had a good taste but they did not cook the chicken with the mole. They just posted the mole over the chicken. The chicken had no flavor, was hard and had tons of small prices of bones....
Getting out of there was a bit difficult because they were so busy we had to wait a while to pay and the lady seemed a bit overwhelmed. She was trying to check people out, take orders and hand out to go orders.
All and all even though my plate was not bad, I don't see us...
Read moreWe went here for dinner, in a pinch, because our intended stop closed at 9. Whoops! The menu was large and not geared towards easy selection. Bummed that they don't serve margaritas, or any alcohol. Oh well, onto the food. I order the aguacate torta. I love tortas, usually. This one consisted of shredded lettuce, two slices of tomato, and some overripe avocado on a squishy, soggy toasted bun like thing. It also came with crema, which I declined. No other veggies, no grilled jalepeno. No flavor. In otherwise major disappointment. My hubby got the Chicken Monterrey which was average minus the canned, yes I said canned!?!, mushrooms. Our dining companions had spinach enchiladas and a giant burrito. Also containing canned mushrooms and also average. The best part of the meal was the free chips and salsa. The creamy, green one was my favorite. The decor was just confused. Is it a low rent italian eatery as indicated by the jarred olives? Or maybe a chicken joint? I mean there were chickens everywhere. My favorite piece of decor was the antique looking phone. Now I should state, going into this I did not have any expectations of the decor blowing me away or even being noticeable. The fact that it was conversation worthy in the not so good way...
Read moreWe were traveling through and wanted some Mexican food. Honestly…. One of the best meals I had ever. I usually come around arizona and Texas for Mexican food. And now live in NY and I haven’t had a good Mexican meal in awhile! We had some enchiladas, I had the chicken mole, and menudo. The chicken mole was so good. First bite and I was OBSESSED. I’m craving it right now. The chicken falls off the bone. Everything was just phenomenal. We went in around 8pm on a Thursday night and it got packed quick. Only thing is it’s so small and we have to be cautious with covid. The menudo was exactly what I needed, we couldn’t finish so we took it to go. Only thing is it taste likes there already lime squeezed in it. I like lime in it, I’d just prefer to control how much I put it. But literally everything was so so so good. It definitely hit the spot of my Mexican food craving. My grandparents are Mexican and I grew up eating it, but again, I lived IN NY sand not a lot of good Mexican food places exist. It was busy but our waitress was so sweet and on top of everything. We never felt neglected. The plates are HUGE, the price is very good for the portions, and the service is phenomenal. I hope I come back one day. Thanks y’all for being...
