I got my navel pierced here over a month ago by Ghost. Since then, I’ve had to spend more money trying to FIX AND HEAL the piercing than I paid for him to pierce it in the first place. And I will have to pay another person to re-pierce. It rejected due to incorrect technique for my anatomy, so I will have to spend even more in the future. Hopefully, it doesn't leave a nasty scar like I'm worried it might because it was a surface piercing. Not only that, but I still haven’t gotten a full refund!
Long story short Pierced incorrectly Few days later… Hella irritated, very angry piercing site Immediately had another piercer at different place evaluate, was told it was a surface piercing and not correct for my anatomy + jewelry was wrong (Details below) Paid for new jewelry, swelling went down within hours Called Legacy soon after, telling them I was coming in, summarized everything on the phone 2 other piercers (Mica + ?) took a look, agreed it wasn’t correct. Said they’d have to talk to Ghost since they were independent contractors to get my refund. Multiple follow ups and a month+ later…. I’ve had to pay to downsize jewelry one more time and it rejected, so it had to come out. And STILL haven’t gotten all of my money back!
Initially, I was pretty sad, but live and let learn. I thought that I’d be a learning lesson for the piercer, the hole would heal, I’d lose money on my end, but whatever. I’d get AT LEAST my refund back and that’s that. But, no.
Honestly, at this point it’s not even about the money anymore. I’m not usually one to write reviews. I have to be pushed pretty far to use my time like this and I prefer to solve things in person and let people fix their mistakes, but now, I'm writing this review on principle.
Because, after giving this place so much time and grace during the holidays with multiple follow-ups, I’ve only gotten the initial cost back, but not my tip of 20%! The piercer actually tried to gaslight me about whether I tipped or not, like please do not play with me- I ALWAYS tip, especially for these types of services! We both have the bank statements to prove it! I told him to check his statements and that I’d send him mine if needed. After we got off the phone, he only sent back me the original piercing cost. It’s so unprofessional and rude to take so long to get back to me with a response, but another level to try to keep the tip for a service that wasn’t performed correctly!
Again, I’ve spent more money (AND TIME!!) trying to fix the issue than the original cost of the piercing (INCLUDING THE TIP) and I will have to re-pierce it. I'm pretty easy-going and I'm starting to feel like my patience has been taken advantaged of. So, honestly- y’all owe me more than this but: Just GIVE ME MY TIP BACK! ————————————————————————————————————— Shortly after I got pierced, the site got very, very irritated, was hot to the touch, extremely painful, and had a big irritation bump on it. I paid another piercer to take a look and change out the jewelry, where she told me that I was pierced incorrectly for my anatomy.
I have what is called a collapsing navel and I was not pierced in my navel, but on the surface of my stomach. The jewelry type was not correct either- it wasn’t compatible with my anatomy and the post didn’t account for swelling at all. So every time I moved, I was irritating the piercing site. It hurt so bad.
So we switched to the correct jewelry with a longer post, so the swelling could go down. But she told me I’d probably have to remove it and let it heal afterwards to re-pierce again, which I agreed. It was a surface piercing. No way it would keep. It hurt SO badly for her to take out the original jewelry because it was screwed on so tight and the piercing site was very irritated. She literally had to cut it off of me. The swelling went down within hours and I was no...
Read moreTLDR: First artist wasn't very good but Leslie rocks! And there are people willing to fix the poor work of others. If there's an artist wanting to charge you more on their $30 mini Wednesdays, ask her policy for touch ups and if it's similar to what's in my full review then that's probably my first artist and I'd ask for someone else.
FIRST VISIT
I went during one of their mini tatt Wednesdays where they're $30. The artist charged me $40 because the design was fine line. Not sure why that mattered but no biggie. It looked fine when it was done but after only a week of healing I saw some spots that made me worry this tatt would need some touching up. Now on the 2nd week of healing and some of the lines are even lighter and almost nonexistent in spots, like equal pressure wasn't applied throughout the design. This wasn't a result of improper aftercare..I know how to take care of my ink, as evidenced by a 9 month old piece I have from another artist/shop that still looks like it did on day 1. Since this tattoo has the most special meaning for me I reached out to the artist about a touch up (I don't want it to be perfect, I can embrace the imperfections, but I don't want it faded in a few month or a year). I was told it'd be $30 to touch up or free with another tattoo. On the one hand I get it but also why would I pay another $30 for something so new? Especially when other artists/shops I've gone to offer one free touch up as long as it's within 6 months of getting inked. And I definitely don't want another tattoo from the same artist since I might end up in the same situation I'm in now.
UPDATE January 21, 2025 As y'all can see the owner offered to make things right but last month I reached out to another artist, Leslie, to see if she would do another piece and touch up the one that wasn't done well. I should add it was actually 2 tattoos I'd gotten the first time and the other one was also bad - this wasn't a case of fine line falling out, it was an artist with bad technique because that second one wasn't fine line (which she also charged $40 for because it was a lot of shading but it's like an inch or 2).
Anyway, Leslie said her manager, Eric, offered to do a touch up but I told her I wanted her to do my new ink because she showed a lot more healed work on her Instagram, some as old as a year, than the first person I used. I also asked her touch up policy and it's way better. I've waited about 2 weeks to update and I'm super happy with the results on the new piece and the touch up on the other 2 that she went ahead and took care of! Leslie was super chill and easy to talk to. She even put some Beatles on to go along with the theme of my new tat. Would definitely go to her again or even Eric - both times I could hear him cracking jokes and he did work on my friend during my first visit and it looks good. 5 stars for...
Read moreI was so excited to get my first nostril piercing, and had done research for months beforehand. Right off the bat I was asked if I wanted a ring or stud, which confused me because I read everywhere you weren’t supposed to get a ring right away, so I chose a stud. The studs were corkscrew which was alright, I didn’t have much experience on which type of stud was better. The piercer was super nice, although I was a little apprehensive when she suggested I use a vinegar-sea salt solution as aftercare. Later I asked my mom who’s a nurse if this suggested solution was a good idea to put on a fresh piercing; to which she looked at me like I was an idiot. I instead just bought saline spray. I have been incredibly careful with my piercing, only ever lightly bumping it once, and using the spray twice a day. Yet the skin around the piercing and down to the edge of my nostril began peeling really bad and remained red and irritated. I eventually developed piercing bumps, and the jewel in the stud fell out. After about 3 months since the initial piercing, I made an appointment today with another piercing shop to swap out the jewelry, in which the piercer told me the material of the nose ring was not the best, and was stopping my skin from healing, and that I even needed a longer bar on the jewelry replacement because my nostril was so swollen. He was great, but the jewelry swap obviously hurt more than the actual piercing did because my nose was so inflamed. So now I’m right back at the beginning of my healing journey, spent around 50$ to get the jewelry replaced, and will have to spend another 50$ in a few months to shorten the bar once the swelling finally goes down. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this shop for piercings whatsoever. Get your piercing from a shop that clarifies on the type of material of the jewelry, such as implant grade titanium. It’s worth spending the extra money for a easy...
