I went here a year ago on a date. To summarize before going into detail, the food was alright I suppose, the service was incredibly terrible, the atmosphere is small but still a bit cozy.
Food: it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the best either. It’s more authentic than most other Colombian places around. The portions seemed small when I went there and ordered a paisa, yet they look bigger now in some of the recent reviews. The meat was tough, the chorizo was a bit small, the rice was nice, the beans were bland. The pan de bono was nice.
Service: I have been as a server for a while, it really isn’t hard to act decent around others man. Why do I have some weird servers doing tik tok edits near me while I’m eating, recording themselves cleaning a table and pretending to be something they aren’t, a good server. Why does my server sound annoyed and dead right off the bat when I just sat down, replying with so much attitude. Why did it take a while for someone to come and answer me when I got up to ask for another plate when my partner and I were the only ones there. These high school girls are not cut out for a job lmao.
Atmosphere: Not really much to say, it was really small inside but it wasn’t too bad. There is not much space to work with which is...
Read moreThe server was very nice , but as a Colombian I must admit the food was disappointing. I order beef tongue with was loaded with onions on top, I believe to hide the very small portion of the beef tongue. Half the plate was cabbage salad never in my 51 years have I had cabbage salad or come across it in any restaurants in Colombia. The empanadas you can tell were not fresh. My husband‘s empanada was frozen in the middle, which was an indicator that they are just microwave upon ordering. Lastly, never have I been to a Colombian place that the server does not know how to make a coffee. We kindly ask for an espresso shot, which are not sold and I am aware it’s not a ethnic Colombian thing, but we were just trying to be kind because basically what was served to us was just a cup with 3/4 of boiled milk. The server did offer to redo the coffees but not much of a difference we drank 1 sip and left in disappointment. One thing I can say is the Maracuja juice, my French husband happily had two glasses which taste great. He is a good judge of fruit juices Maracuja being one of his favorites when he travels to Colombia . Lastly, for the low quality of food, and not being fresh at all , it was...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of town and were craving some familiar foods. This was the only place nearby that sold the type of food that we were hoping to eat.
Overall the food here is decent but due to the costs and portions, it is not a place I would recommend. Perhaps if you are in our situation it’s okay but if you have the time and energy to travel to a different location that sells similar foods I would probably do that.
Staff was super friendly and helpful and I had a wonderful experience from that aspect.
The prices are okay but the food reflects that. I’m not asking for 5 lbs of food on my plate but I don’t even think they give you a single portion of each ingredient. You’d expect at least 4 ounces of chicken if you order the chicken breast but it was more around 2.
Same with the sides. You get an order of plantains but you barely get two pieces. Not even half a plantain?
We also ordered some fresh waters and these were really good. I’d probably stop by just to pickup a drink to go.
They also offer a variety of desserts and baked goods but we did not try any of them so I can’t comment on them.
Based on this I cannot...
