Quite interesting using this facility. A friend of mine called the office and spoke to a woman about how to book one of the community rooms. She was given a quote in writing how much it would cost to use the room including the kitchen. My friend paid for use the room from 11a-3:30pm including the kitchen. Upon arrival, we began using the kitchen however the young man on duty named Steven had not received the information that we had paid for everything. He informed us that he did not have it listed that we paid for the kitchen. He did not ask us to cease use of the kitchen nor to leave. HOWEVER he did make it known that we would be charged if we continued to use the kitchen. As his manager Brandon arrived, he did make amends as he later acknowledged that we were mislead and given incorrect pricing. He still did charge us and had us pay the difference instead providing Great customer service and NOT making us pay the difference. This was a mistake on managements behalf when giving us the quote and not ours. PLEASE be aware when booking the room and dealing with STEVEN and BRANDON and the entire community center as you may be paying excess fees on the back end due to mistakes on managements behalf. They will not provide customer service and give you the benefit...
Read moreLove my jazzercise classes! The aerobics room is used for many different classes and I know this time of year it is hard to keep the floors clean. But, there are some maintenance and cleaning issues that need to be addressed in this room. The floors need to be cleaned more than 3 or 4 times a year. The stationary bikes need repair or to be removed. There are 14 and no more than 6 are used at one time, if they are working. The lights have needed replacement bulbs for over a year. Yes, it is plenty light in there, but 3 bulbs are out right over the stage and have been this way for 2yrs. This facility is wonderful and the people working there are friendly and helpful. I really do appreciate the opportunity to have this facility so close . UPDATE 4/17/24: NO CHANGES! Bulbs have been replaced but the cleanliness has...
Read moreI joined the Rowlett Community Center in January 2018. Because I am over 60, the cost is a mere $10 a year. A YEAR!!!
So far, all I have done is use the workout facility. The equipment is not the newest, but it is definitely adequate. There are treadmills, bicycles, weight machines, free weights, and more. Once you have gone several times, you start to get to know others who go regularly so it becomes a bit of a social event to go.
I joined one other time and never used my membership. I'm glad I have begun to actually use it this time!
In addition to the gym, there are countless activities for seniors, such as potlucks, gatherings at local restaurants, coffee and donuts, the list goes on.
There are also a number of organized classes available to folks of all ages. I just haven't personally participated in any...
