I have been shopping at this location since they have opened! I love shopping here, until an issue I had a few weeks ago. I took some balloons in to be blown up at the Floral Department and also asked for some latex balloons as well. The lady at the floral counter, her name was Ebti, was so incredibly rude! She told me that if I wanted balloons next time I NEEDED to place and order, which I have never been told. There was literally no one there and she was just standing around doing nothing when I walked up, so it was no inconvenience to her.
When I asked her to blow up the balloons I brought in she wasted to charge me $10 PER BALLOON! I told her my sister had called the day before and they told her $5 per balloon, her response to me was “yeah of course they told her that, yeah right.” I was in disbelief she said that to me. Then another customer standing there told me I was being ripped off because she brought the same size balloon in the day before and they charged her $5!
So I got a manger involved they charged me the $5 after all. I said I would all of them blown up please and she responded with “ are you fricken kidding me?” I said “no, I will wait, thank you.” As she was blowing up my balloons she said again I needed an order next time to get balloons. I said “ oh there will be no next time after how I was treated.” Her response “Haha, that is completely fine.”
I work retail and would NEVER speak to someone like this. I called corporate two weeks ago. Still have heard nothing from corporate or the store manger, which I was told I would. I can say they have lost a loyal customer and I will make sure to let everyone I know that shops there to take their business elsewhere, where it will be appreciated. Save your self the time and shop elsewhere. Because I definitely will be...
Read moreIs it Kroger policy to ID anyone who touches an alcohol bottle? Yesterday I was at the Royal oak Marketplace purchasing items, including alcohol. I Had my son with me who is 20. He was only there to assist me in my shopping. I was the one purchasing the whole cart full of items. It was 4:30 pm and there was only 1 register open. after waiting in line for a half of an hour, we finally got to the register. My son started putting our items on the cart, like he always does when we go shopping. The cashier rudely asked for his ID. I told her that It was mine and I was the one making the purchase. She said it didn't matter, he had already touched it, so if she didn't see his ID, the alcoholic items couldn't be purchased. She said that they would lose their license if she didn't see his id. My son didn't bring his wallet with him. There was no need to. He wasn't driving or making any purchases. She was not going to let me make my purchase if he was there. I told him to go to the car. I had to put all of my items back in my cart and get out of line. Then wait another 20 minutes to get back up to the same register. Once there, there was no "I'm sorry" or any form of compassion or remorse from the cashier. Upon further research, I have found absolutely NOTHING that states If someone touches a bottle of alcohol, then they have to show their id. What if my child was younger and was helping me. Would you ask for a 10 yr old's id? And how presumptuous is the cashier who asks for the young man's ID when his 50 yr old mother is with him and clearly stated that the items were for her. It is instances like this that make it very hard for me to want to continue to shop at Kroger. I plan on letting everyone I know how "Customer...
Read moreMy second time in this store and both were very unpleasant experiences and neither were customer service focused. First off: There was only one self checkout lane open. It's the middle of rush shopping as it was 6:00 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. The line was to the back of the store. That's probably a good 100ft of people wanting on a quick checkout. Mind you this checkout lane services 6 stations. They have additional 2 self checkout lanes that could service an additional 10 more stations but all 10 were closed. Now get this, We get to the checkout station and 4 out of 6 stations were waiting on assistance including mine. Apparently, bottle return slips require special assistance (for some unforeseen reason). When the clerk finally came over all she did was scan my tickets (I could do that). BTW way it took about 20 minutes for the clerk to assist the first person and he was using one of those personal shopping scanners and all he wanted to do was pay and get out. Only two stations were moving at this point and I could only imagine the line circling around the back of the store. No manager in view, no other assistance from supervisors, no help for this poor clerk at all. Four people just twiddling our thumbs because of the station needed assistance (and only one needed Id check for alcohol). In the end the clerk didn't even bother going to the stations but just remotely unlocked them so that they could continue after being stuck there for 20 minutes. This is no joke and in no way is the self checkout quick. I thought the 8 mile grocery stores chains were bad. This one is way worse and it's the newest store in the area. By far it is one of the most...
