Never posted a Google review before but this is probably the worst experience with a Raleys i have ever had (says a lot because its hard to be absolutely disappointed with a grocery store run). Stopped by Raleys on Freeport earlier today (Christmas eve) because my family business was running out of a dairy products and we had checked 3 stores prior to coming to this Raleys.
The two stars are for the organization and assortment of products as they had pretty much everything we needed with the exception of Christmas themed goods like candy canes. Understandable, considering it was the day before Christmas.
The deducted three stars are because of the insanely rude service from Michael , our “experienced clerk,” and the way he treated my boyfriend and I while checking out. Yes, its a busy day as people are scrambling to buy last minute groceries for holiday parties and it is understandable to be tired and irritated. However it’s unacceptable to MOCK and make customers feel guilty for buying necessities for a small business. I had asked him as we were checking out if we could do two transactions as I needed to pay for the products meant for the business and personal items on different cards. Michael mocked me and rolled his eyes and proceeded to scan my items. The cart was fairly organized with the ~20 cartons of dairy product neatly aligned in the back so its not like its going to be an inconvenience checking us out. (Mind us, theY were fully stocked on this product and we didnt even take half of what they had) As he finished with the transactions of our personal items he began to question our purchases of the dairy products and complained that the store is now going to have to order more products and that it’s unnecessary to buy it all. I said “well we went to three stores and our restaurant needs it”. He again rolled his eyes, shook his head then turned around to make fun of us to the customers in the lane behind him. Like a normal and kind person, the other customer shrugged his shoulders and nodded at us. As Michael began scanning our second transaction with the dairy products he said “can i just leave this all here in the cart” in an annoyed voice and made us feel like we shouldn’t be doing this. Honestly made us feel like we were stealing all this. I just agreed not wanting to agitate him further assuming he would at least provide bags. He didn’t offer us any bags and continued to snap at us saying “well you didnt want bags” when my boyfriend asked for a few bags.
Management- find people actually suitable for customer service, even if its a busy season, employees should not be making customers for bad for buying necessities. If you’re going to cap customers on buying products, which is understandable considering the current era and shipping delays, actually say that and have signs. Don’t make it a problem at the register. Your corporation is going to have a much easier time putting orders in than a small business needed to adjust orders frequently...
Read moreRaley's used to be my grocery store of choice until I ordered groceries online using their e-cart services. When I received my order, 19 items were missing from the bags and the tomatoes were rotting on the top. E-cart notified me by text message that my order had been mixed up with another order and to contact them. When I contacted e-cart, the person who answered the phone seemed to lack understanding of what I was explaining to her. Furthermore, she was unable to locate any outgoing messages that had been sent to me, which made it impossible for them to assist me with the missing items.
I contacted the store manager and they stated they would send over my message to e-cart as urgent I will be contacted in the morning. E-cart notified me in the afternoon I went over the missing items two separate times and when my order arrived after 3pm I still had items missing also my cake was melted or tipped over during transit. The plastic container the cake was in did not have the sticker affixed. It was either broken or unsealed. Unfortunately, we were unable to consume the cake due to safety reasons.
It took almost three days and several attempts to resolve this issue which included numerous phone calls and emails. The outcome of my order, however, remained unsatisfactory. As a loyal customer of Raley's, I had high expectations for their e-cart service, given the positive customer service history I've had in the past with other Raley's supermarkets. However, encountering such a disappointing experience has led to feelings of stress and dissatisfaction. My attempts by email and telephone to reach the corporation have been unsuccessful, I also filled out the survey on my receipt. I have yet to hear back from anyone...
Read moreThis store always seems to be an absolute mess. Bathrooms are always really gross. For whatever reason they seem to only stock the store during open hours which takes up so much room it’s sometimes impossible to even go down the aisles. Today they had four employees working on the chips at the same time, the aisle was filled with shopping carts full of chips and impossible to pass. When I tried to get through to pick up what I needed only one employee was helpful and tried to adjust things so I could get by. One of them even told me to move the carts myself after I had asked if there was a way I could get by. I was honestly so surprised I didn't even respond. The produce is always weirdly off... mislabeled or just not right. I noticed a stocker put out strawberries that were visibly rotten and covered in white mold. The employees always seem either really out of it or are very rude. I only go to this store as an InstaCart shopper and anytime I go to the front to check out and tell them that it’s for InstaCart (which we are told to do, part of the job) every checker has either rolled their eyes or expressed exasperation just from me informing them. One of them literally walked away from the check stand to throw a tiny fit the moment I started to explain I had two separate orders. Or today, I was told by one of them, “you don’t need to tell us that, you aren’t special”. The poor baggers always seem so embarrassed on their behalf. If I could, I would avoid this particular...
