I feel like I will come back here some day and enjoy it, so I may change my review in the future, but today I was pretty disappointed. I visited with a group of friends and we all have young children. My son is 20 months old and could only ride a few rides (which is fine, itās what I expected). We tried to ride the Carousel, but he started freaking out when I tried to put him on a horse. So I sat with him on the sleigh, which is basically a bench seat on the ride. Iād like him to have a chance to ride these rides in a way that he feels comfortable and safe, so I had no problem sitting down with him. A friend with a 2 1/2 year old had the same experience, and we both ended up in the sleigh with our children freaking out in our laps. The employee running the ride came over and told us the children need to be seated NEXT to us, not on our laps. My friend tried taking her son (who had just calmed down) off her lap and he went hysterical again- she left the ride. The employee stayed and stared at me. I tried taking my son off my lap but he clung closer to me, so I told the employee (who was still awkwardly staring at me) that I was hoping heād let me put him down once the ride started moving. He left and I tried as promised, but he would only stand next to me and try to climb on me. When we passed the attendant, he motioned that my toddler needed to be sitting, and I tried and failed for the next few minutes to get him to sit down. I finally just sat him on my lap and avoided eye contact with the attendant the rest of the ride.
The next ride we went on was the train. AFTER taking our tickets and letting us get situated, the attendant told us our toddler needed to be sitting on the seat next to us. My husband had him on this ride and had the same fight with the toddler I did. My fiends who rode the ride with us had a six month old baby and the attendant told them he needed to be seated next to them, not on their laps. They tried, the baby screamed, and they left.
Okay, here are my complaints.
Why canāt a parent hold a child on their laps???? Will someone please explain this to me??? These rides are going at .02 miles an hour. And Iām pretty sure a parents arms wrapped around them is way safer than a flailing toddler.
Employees should be trained on how to deal with this situation. If you see a child being carried onto the ride, and especially when the child is 6 months old- assume the parents are planning on lap sitting and warn them that the baby will need to be sitting on the seat and can not be held. For that matter- the person selling the non refundable tickets should definitely warn parents of tiny children that they cannot lap sit.
Even though Iām annoyed at the policies, the company is allowed to have whatever rules they want. Iām more annoyed that the situation was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the first time since my son was in the icu trama children's hospital that he got to go out and actually have some fun I paid 70 bucks for the 4 of us to get in I honestly thought that was a lil much considering I don't ride the rides but I also didn't mind but our time slot was for 4:15 due to covid but we're told we had to wait to go in due to over crowding so I still was trying not to ruin his day but we finally got in around 4:35 maybe 4:45 and because of the crowding he only got to ride 2 rides due to how long the lines were and we stood in line on a couple of rides for over 15 min to just get turned away due to them closing at 6 but most the rides closed early 10 to 15 min early so all the kids I took with me and my 2 boys were in tears at the end of the day I was feeling my blood boil in my head 70 bucks for two rides was ridiculous but I asked for a manager and while telling him all of this I'm holding back tears because my son a couple months ago we didn't know if he was going to make it out of the hospital but the manager was so amazing I didn't get his name I really really wish I got his name so I could bring him a Starbucks gift card or somthing I explained the situation to him he was in shock they didn't let us in at our time slot but also because a couple of the rides closed early but he did give me vip passes so our next trip is on them and my son was so so happy and to just be able to see that smile again was amazing so thank you so so much for that I really really appreciate it you have know idea what this means to me too see him happy I will def bring the gift card for you in hopes you are there when we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is great for smaller kids to alittle less than big kids. It's an upgrade fro. Fairy Tale Town. There are a lot of rides and it has State Fair food such as churros, funnel cake, deep fried items (oreo, candy bars, twinkles), corn dogs, hot dogs and drinks.
The staff are friendly and they all seem to like kids. It can be repetitive for staff to do the same thing and it's understandable but the staff are good people.
The gumball machine was not working. There was no more gumballs. One of the staff said Fundrrland doesn't buy anymore gumballs. Also the dragon ride has the first cart with a broken seat belt. I felt it was unsafe and brought it to the staffs attention. The staff said he told his boss. That front cart should not be operational. That is extremely dangerous for smaller kids. The bar will go down to the the adults waist but it doesn't provide a lot of protection for the kid. That is were the seat belt comes in located on the inner part of the cart. Also the park needs a scrub down. It looks like no one is really taking care of the buildings. There's a algae on a lot if the buildings. The new logos and mascot throughout the park help make Funderland look revived but with some of the stuff like an old bus train that had spiderwebs on it and algae bring back the old feel of the park.
The park also has horse rides outside of the park and bathroom. Each ride is 7 dollars and gets cheaper with more rides. It is humane for the horses because they get to walk freely with a leash /rein versus stuck on a rail going around. The horses are...
