
I have been "working out" for many years, but I became dissatisfied with my results, or lack thereof. I thought about crossfit, but I was afraid of all the dangers that I had been reading about,i.e trainers lack of knowledge and being pushed well beyond someones ability to the point of injury. So, I searched around the Sacramento area for a gym that would push me like crossfit but without the dangers that accompanied it. This is when I came across Fitsom studios, a group-led fitness studio that was similar to crossfit but most importantly different. Upon my arrival to Fitsom Studios, Marco met with me and spoke to me about posture. imbalances and muscle tightness, and how a body would never perform optimally if all of the muscles didn't "fire off" in unison. I had never been to a gym where a trainer had educated me quite like this. So I decided to give it a try. Three months later, I no longer have shoulder pain, I am ten times more flexible, and I am stronger than ever. Marco worked on my imbalanced muscles to the point where my whole body worked as one. I no longer have hunched over shoulders or pain in my knees. Most gyms try to trash your body from day one, but Marco and his trainers "fixed" my body first. Then they trained me how to properly perform all the exercises that past trainers just made me do fast and sloppy just to break a sweat. I am completely satisfied with my investment in Fitsom Studios because you only have one body, and I want mine to be in the best shape possible! Read moreI have been training at Fitsom Studios for just over a month now and I am as excited about it today as I was on day one. I have been physically active since as long as I can remember and as a Marine Corps Veteran my body has seen plenty of physical activity. It wasn't until I came into Fitsom that I realized that much of my chronic pain was due to bad posture and improper technique. I like most people had been training aimlessly without any real direction or regard for posture or technique.
I have seen great improvement in a very short time and I always get in a great workout with all of the trainers. The small group training classes allow for a sense of comradery as well as the attention that you receive from a personal trainer. The trainers are very knowledgeable and they really care about my health and well being. They always take the time to answer all of the questions that I have.
With the Self Myocardial Release (SMR) techniques that they taught me I can roll out any tight muscles when at home or even at the office. They also practice NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) which helped to find the root cause of my knee, hip, and shoulder pain. I ran a Spartan obstacle race this past weekend and the team of trainers made sure that I was well prepared to perform at my best. After starting at FITSOM over two years ago and establishing consistency on my part, I have gone from 151 lbs. after my second child to 128 lbs and feeling awesome!!!! FITSOM has changed my life. After 2 kids and being a former athlete and overweight I had to change. FITSOM helped me with stretching, which most people may think is a waste of time but it is NO JOKE! With learning stretching and rollin techniques I have been able to see/feel how much stretching is valuable before/after a workout. The work outs are kick a$$, but fun and ever changing, which makes it enjoyable. The group classes are something to look forward to every morning especially since it is 6:30am!!! FITSOM is more than just a gym, I have made lifelong friends in which we have all committed to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
