The Beach Club at St Augustine — Attraction in Saint Augustine Beach

We rented a condo at The Beach Club at St. Augustine, Fla. in late February and overall, we enjoyed our stay although there were several nickel and dime issues. Overall, the unit was clean but there was no dish soap to hand wash dishes (there was a dishwasher but we also needed to clean some pans). Also missing were a cutting board and condiments of any type. These and other items were available at all the other VRBO/Airbnb sites we have rented in the past. We also had to clean some laundry and were forced to use a coin-operated washer/dryer (old models) on another floor. We were also disappointed about the non-availability of a swimming pool/spa. We didn’t see the disclaimer about the pool being out of order until well after we booked. Unfortunately, the repairs started the day we arrived and continued the following day, which was a Saturday and the pool is about 30 - 50 feet from our room. The staff was very friendly and there is a game room with pool tables, etc. that could use some TLC. For some reason, it wasn’t open Saturday evening. We parked free at the club’s parking lot, which was a short distance from our unit. The location of this condo is very good, just a few hundred feet from the ocean beach - so close we heard the waves the entire time we were there. We have been coming here for over 30 years with our family. Management staff is amazing, a big upgrade from what it was before Cunningham Properties owned it. Very polite, always welcoming, love the extended hours.

On another note, our bed sheets had sand all at the foot, like they were previously slept in, which is unacceptable. Although we were able to go to the lobby to get a replacement set, it was disgusting thinking we laid where someone else had already. I’m almost certain the pullout bed had bed bugs as well.

The pool had a scum line across the top and was slimy all the way around like it was never cleaned. The game room had no a/c running so we did not get to spend a lot of time there.

Condo has easy access to the beach and local wildlife which is always a plus and the beach toys bin on the way out. I’m just hoping property management reads this review and fixes the issues at hand for the next visitors. Pay close attention to the one star reviews regarding customer service.

We are from out of town and pulled a car that got stuck in the sand and made it to the parking lot of this establishment. As the guy was getting out of his car to check to make sure it was safe to drive, we were greeted with the most foul human being I’ve ever encountered in my life. So glad we didn’t stay here. Yelling and screaming making herself and this establishment look dumb. Now we see why it was so vacant. ‘Of course you’re out of towners’ - seeing as how that’s how your business survives, I’d behave a little better than that. The way this female acted, we will never stay here.
