Labcorp at Walgreens — Local services in Saint Augustine Beach

No More Walk-ins!!! Having been there (A1A at Walgreens, St. Aug Beach) 4-5 times with my wife in the past year mostly as walk-ins. I went this morning at 900AM for a fasting routine lab. I signed in, sat down and was called 7 min later to be told they’d changed their policy LAST MONDAY to APPT ONLY. The waiting area was empty when I arrived then two women came, one signed in and were admitted, an appt but there was NO ONE ELSE in the waiting area. I complained, “how was I supposed to know?” and that I had no other time/day for the next month because I was in school 5 days/wk 7-4pm in Daytona and they’re not open Sat or Sunday. , they said NO again, make appt. The place was EMPTY. No notice at the sign in stand, nothing about a change of policy, like my time’s not worth a thing to them. I went to QUEST LAB over in Moultrie and was admitted within 5 minutes, no problem whatsoever! Nice folks and they were very surprised to hear my story. Labcorp website still reads that they ACCEPT walk ins but advise making appointments so what’s the problem over at Walgreens A1A?? Labcorp just lost MY business for that behavior: I know they make a tidy bundle on routine lab billing. My wife, a retired nurse will probably do the same and switch BACK to Quest where she went for years. I guess Labcorp has become smug and complacent about patient care needs and can afford to turn away once loyal clients like us, maybe you as well. I’ll be telling this tale to my very busy primary’s office staff soon enough so they can warn others about the LabCorp...

I had an appointment with what I thought was Labcorp on US1 in st Augustine last week. I was there on time and signed in, as usual. I waited patiently and realized I was not getting called on. I asked a nurse about it and she said my appointment was at the beach location in St Augustine. I checked my appointment slip and she was correct.
