(Note: I’m a little late to posting this review, I’ve been busy after leaving. However, I wanted to vocalize what an atrocious time I had.) I have never had worse service. I wish I could go back in time and undo eating here, opting for Buffalo Wild Wings or something of that nature. I wanted wings, my little sister wanted a chicken sandwich. Super easy order, we weren’t abnormally hard customers (as far as I’m aware). Food was good, normal for Hurricane. I usually love the food. The service on the other hand? Terrible. I can NOT imagine being a manager and allowing employees to sit in booths and play on their phones while customers sit without drinks. My little sister will go through two or three sodas when we eat out, which fair enough. She’s a teenager, I get it’s inconvenient. It was a Wednesday, though, and they weren’t busy. By far, my favorite part of the afternoon was having the waitress bring me my check, eye roll, and come back with the check book for me to sign. LIKE I WAS INCONVENIENCING HER?! WHAT?! Her attitude was terrible, the service was terrible. What infuriated me the most was her pointedness with my fourteen year old sister. She’s a child, but she was extremely polite. I had to commend her for being polite to our clearly rude server (which I’ve literally never done, and felt so stupid to have to do). Her sandwich came out with toppings she didn’t want, despite telling the server otherwise, she just took them off and left it alone. I left unhappy, and when I said something—the manager offered to take off the check or whatever. I paid for my food because I ate it, I don’t want freebies, and I definitely don’t want to go back because I’m not local. I don’t enjoy wasting my time, especially when I’m on vacation. I am still pretty upset, if it wasn’t obvious. I will happily take my business to the eight hundred other restaurants in St. Augustine. I even had better service at the gas station for a late night pizza (I think it was seven eleven). The food was great, however. I think the cooks do a good job with whatever grease pit they’ve worked up back there (don’t tell me, I’ll never eat at a hurricane again haha). It’s unfortunate to have such poor service staff, and a clearly too relaxed manager for such a great chain. I personally will never go here again, I beware other people to stray away if you’re looking for a great family-friendly time, or just the minimum of...

Read moreIf you enjoy wings, music, and the great atmosphere of a beach hang out, Hurricanes is definitely the place for you.
Of the 10 regular flavors, I believe 4 of them are my favorites. I usually always get a combination of 3 or 4 of the flavors, along with some french fries or onion rings. Their hamburgers are great as well but for me, a hamburger is for a change of pace but I go for the wings.
In the evenings, most days of the week they have a musician singing a variety of classic rock, a little country, with an occasional newer song. I've never gone and been turned off of the music.
The service has always been good. When it is not too hot, I love to grab a table outside and be closer to the music. On occasion, it is been too hot and we have dined inside.
Accessibility is extremely easy, even in my big wheelchair. It is easy enough to navigate the other tables, chairs, and guest. Access from the road is extremely easy as well. There were roughly 10 restaurants and shops in this little mini mall of sorts. A great used bookstore with arts and crafts as well. A pizza joint, a seafood restaurant, basically a hodgepodge of this and that.
So if wings are your thing, Hurricanes is a...
