The lady in deli was super helpful, and the other folks I asked for help were excellent. The store was clean and well-organized, and the employees wore masks. I don't usually shop here, but I enjoyed the experience and will shop here again.
Update April 2023 - The store is well-stocked and clean. I was excited to find biscuits in the Bakery section. I stopped in to grab a bit of dinner, and decided on the fried chicken (pieces) from the deli. Wow, very good! I don't usually eat the batter (or much of it), but it was too good to resist. Very nice associates at check out, too!
Update September 2023 - I don't shop here often. Most of the prices are very good compared to Publix, but there are a number of things I can't get at WD, and others that I don't like as much. I shop here when I want in and out fairly quickly.
Update May 2024 - Good prices and there appeared to be more staff members than I usually see. I may have shopped on a different day and at a time of day than my norm. I didn't need particular help, but it was available and that was nice
Update Dec. 2024 - Good number of staff members. Good prices on the few things I needed to buy. This particular store is more crowded since the Publix closed to renovate, but it was easy to move through the aisles.
Update March 2025 - Helpful staff, good variety of products, and good prices. The store is very busy with the island Publix closed.
Update May - Sections / items have been moved around so you may need to search a bit or ask for help. The staff is responsive and very nice. WD doesn't have some items I want, but I've been able to adapt or make the longer trip to Publix.
Update July 2025 - The store was very busy but the associates I saw were friendly and helpful to shoppers. The stores still doesn't carry some of the things that I like the most, like English breakfast tea, but I'm adapting to what the...
Read moreWhile the store was fairly nice, the cashier and bagger were another story. Lyla was our cashier and our bagger was Destiny. Both were absolutely obnoxious during checkout. Ignored us completely to gossip about their issues with their work schedules. Stopped scanning and bagging our items every few seconds to check their phones and continue to complain about their shifts and management. They went on to talk about how they didn't have each other on Snapchat before Lyla got annoyed that one of our items wouldn't scan and had to stop her convo and phone checking to scan it with the handheld. Such an inconvenience on her part I know! Then, it was back to griping about management and rules. Destiny went on to complain about how she doesn't get the issue of working with their earbuds in. They don't have to talk to customers or anything. Another eye roll from them both, pause to check their phones and drop groceries in a bag without looking. They continued their conversation passing the receipt to my parents without ever once acknowledging them, greeting them or anything. The first bit of acknowledgement we got was when I continued to stand there as I had my own items to purchase on a second transaction and Lyla looked up confused as to why I hadn't walked away. I politely said this is a separate transaction and waited for her to catch on. Had they been paying attention to their patrons and not more concerned with gossiping about their issues with management and rules this review would have been much different. I implore management to spend more one on one time with their younger employees, these kids are something else today and seldom care about anything but their social media status and gripes with authority. Id definitely suggest management consider pairing these two with more mature coworkers who are professional and customer...
Read moreDay before Thanksgiving and last minute food & drink (wine, good wine huge plus) and since I am the guest it's fun to purchase these items. Preference would be Publix, however it was approximately 5pm and there was a line of 5+ cars waiting to get into the parking lot and could see lot full - so, crossing two lanes went to Winn Dixie instead. Pleased I did as they had exact products was looking for plus benefit of almost everything I bought was on sale - two items BOGO like fresh blueberries that were great and cool whip (I like it occasionally) also the little plain shortcakes sold by half dozen were one of best brands I've had, was very light textured cake, moist and not too sweet, poured half & half over! Wine was a problem to find, one smaller shop near the little post office next door to Aqua Terre (fairly sure the name) restaurant, which I was certain I would find possible treasure in, was closed which was surprising considering all others were open and crowded, plus no sign was posted for closure on this regular working day. So I was stuck with a big supermarket wine, to offer as one of my dinner bring withs from Winn Dixies wine cellar :) However, wine can be the main attraction - wasn't this evening and eventhough I did buy it, was never drank, not tonight. This Thanksgiving was special, was spent with two friends without family's who also happen to be passionately involved in today's complex world of politics and who are on opposite political poles. For our friendship to survive we must accept and respect each other's differences - it has been awkward at times, but we ultimately decided on not forcing our individual beliefs on any others beliefs. Happy...
