From its abstract, captivating Funkadelic octopus logo to the staff that breathes funk into every corner, this spot is a hit. Once an iconic food truck, Funkadelics brought the vibe to life with fresh food that drew crowds. Now, they've established their first brick-and-mortar location in a quiet RV resort park. Despite the resort setting, they bring life—and, of course, the funk—to the table. We were fortunate enough to be served by Meg and Lindz, two of the most funkdafied, skilled, and creative employees I've encountered in the restaurant scene. They excel in their roles, embody the Funkadelics spirit, and ensure every guest is more than satisfied. While we're Wesside fo life, Funkadelics is a bar I'll often reminisce about. The music, scents, art, history, and unique vibe—perfectly capture the essence we appreciate. Do keep in mind that this is a growing establishment with immense potential. Currently, parking is in the RV resort check-in area, which is conveniently located across the gate. They are also working on expanding parking options. The restrooms are shared with the pool, so exercise caution and enjoy the view of the resort pool, which you can see glistening through their clean, well-placed windows, which unexpectedly evokes a beach vibe. A sliding to-go window caters to pool visitors, further showcasing their innovation. The food speaks for itself, but the blackened Mahi tacos with their house-made topping are a must-try. The fresh, house-made Potato and CAVATAPPI Pasta salads each had their own funk, with the potato salad featuring mashed and cut potatoes, plus a breadcrumb mix that elevated the consistency and flavor. We were also honored to have Lindz place our soon-to-be-famous traveling yeti sticker in the perfect spot, symbolizing unique vibes across the country. Overall, Funkadelics exceeded our expectations, delivering an unforgettable experience in St. Augustine. KEEP ON FUNKIN’ IT UP Y’ALL. 1 LOVE ⭐️

My friend and I found funkadelic about 10 years ago at a food truck event and both had a grilled cheese, and didn’t stop thinking about it for years! I moved away for a bit, but when I moved back and found their business card from way back when, I realized they were still open! I went when they were still at the marina, and having forgotten my original order, I got the lump crab grilled cheese, which while not the sandwich I was looking for, was AMAZING! I could’ve sworn I left a review when I went to the opening of their brick and mortar but it seems I completely forgot! I reconnected with my friend from 10 years ago that had found them with me at the food truck event, and we went together during their opening! The food was amazing and having the expanded menu was awesome!! With help from my friend and the staff, I did find my grilled cheese, which was the OG grilled cheese with shrimp(the same thing my friend had gotten and remembered for years)! It was just as amazing as I remembered and came with a great pasta salad!! (Which is SO rare for food you’ve been dreaming about for so long). My friend and I also got the pork egg rolls (since discontinued, but I pray for their return every day). Next time I went back I got the same grilled cheese but also the fried tomatoes and potato salad which were SOOO GOOD!!! Everything is so unique and so special compared to everything else in Jax and St. Aug! The food is perfect, the staff is beyond friendly, and they’re always so kind to my dog! Last time I went Darby was my server and they were so nice! I talk about this place for days after I go there- especially because it’s a treat since it’s a bit of a drive and I don’t get to go as often as I’d like. All to say that this place is an absolute gem and my hands down favorite restaurant! I hope they get a ton of love and support, cause you can tell their hearts are in it!

I’ve been obsessed with Funkadelics for years. Their food truck on Marina Munch was the highlight of that spot. Although farther than their original location, I’m so happy they landed a brick and mortar, I really think this is going to catapult their business! Also I feel like the stars aligned because I really wanted to bring our new hire here for lunch but we couldn’t take her Monday and that evening I saw they posted they were now open Tuesdays so perfect timing! The vibes are exactly the same, very chill and laid back. And the food is glorious!! We ordered the scallop and shrimp ceviche as well as the tuna high roller nachos. Honestly I would have ordered three more and called it a day. This is the only other place in town that knows how to get the flavors of a ceviche correct…and the other place is Peruvian so you would think they know how to make ceviche! I was pleasantly surprised because most places just miss the mark. The nachos were perfection, flavorful with a hint of sweetness. I had the Freddy, which I’ve had before and it was delicious as usual but it was the tots who stole the show. The rest of the table had (not pictured) sticky rice bowl with shrimp, the lump crab grilled cheese and OG shrimp sliders. Everyone raved about their meal and I also want to shout out our waitress because she was so sweet and knowledgeable! Suffice to say I’m adding Funkadelics to the office lunch list!
